Carabao Cup Final Post-Match Thread

If Aguero was on the bench and doing amazingly every time he played once a month, would you say he's being managed perfectly, or would you say that this player clearly should be starting more?

How do you know Foden couldn't play 2x as many games and still be playing as well?

It’s not that simple. Aguero is 31 and has proven it for a decade.

Foden is a supreme talent, who I think has been managed very well, but has to dislodge other players that have proven it for a decade.

I do hope Phil gets more league game time in the last 10 or so games we have left. He’s unlikely to start against the rags or dippers, but the other games he could well play more part in, especially if we go deep into the CL.

It is not shite though.99% on here agree that he has not had enough game time.
His stats on games played are amazing for goals scored or made.

Phil is class and he's playing in the League Cup Final at 19 with KDB is on the bench. I would have liked to see Phil play a bit more but he is doing fine and doesn't need to be rushed. He had a stinker against Fulham in the Cup and that has probably cost him a couple of appearances over the last 6 weeks. Anyone can have a bad game but it was how greedy he was on the ball that would have annoyed Pep. It's probably understandable that Phil was trying to do too much against Fulham with limited first team opportunities.

No, it is that simple, you've missed the point entirely.

You cannot say someone is being managed perfectly when they play well every time they play, because that would also be what happens if they're just being held back and should be playing more.

Who is Foden currently better than in our current best midfield/wingers?

Yesterday was the best performance by someone in that RW slot for weeks, so arguably any of them.

But that's also a bullshit argument because how can any player make a case for being better when he only plays once a month and the others get games every week?
