Carabao Cup Semi Final Games - 24/25/31 Jan / 1 Feb '23

Newcastle are the trailblazers of anti-football. Trippier learned all those tricks while at Atletico Madrid.

When they are up against a better side, the time wasting starts from the very kick off. The goal keepers kick outs take 20 seconds, throw ins get taken from the wrong place, so the ref has to make them move back 10 yards, everyone gets a stint on the floor being injured after any contact with the opposition. A ball in the face or elbow, you might as well go for a pie and a pint because no football will be played for the next 5-8 minutes. Then Eddie Howe uses all of his subs, but only brings them on individually and at 3 minute intervals, so the last 20 minutes of the game is basically a stop/start farce of subs and injuries. It's a joke and they have been doing all season. The sooner that they are twatted back down to mid table the better.
Not getting behind Sky's love-in then?

Sky alone have done these:

We’re Not Really Here: Man City
PL Special: The Race For The Title 2013-14
PL Special: The Centurions
PL 100 Club: Manchester City
Ta-ra Yaya
David Silva: Ten Years Of Magic
PL 100 Club: Sergio Agüero
[there’s also another special with all of Kun’s Prem hat tricks]
Drink It In: The Rise Of Man City

Then there’s obviously All Or Nothing from Amazon.
The Silva one literally brought tears to my eyes.

Watching the Newcastle fans tonight takes me back to vinny goal v Utd when it all started to change. Our stadium used to bounce back then. Real buzz at every game.

The process to success can be more enjoyable than the actual success I guess

United fans used to say that to me at that time.

Many said to me that after the initial exciting rise to the top, it just becomes an obsessive insecure hold on to success after that. They enjoyed the early 90s more than much of what came after it, even though it was years of success. And I can see a bit of that now with us. It feels like the Premier League trophy is ours now but it’s not in any fan’s control over what happens for us to hold onto something that feels like it’s ours.

We still have something we haven’t achieved yet though and that’s the Champions League but far far too many of our fans have this stupid attitude when it comes to that competition - half our fans can’t be arsed getting behind the team to win it with this daft [in my opinion, pretend]attitude of ‘I don’t care about the CL’ [simply because we haven’t won it yet]. Instead of having that exciting hunger that we should have and did have back before this dominating era of domestic success.

I think it’s the biggest reason why we haven’t won it yet. I think the players feed off our negativity towards the competition and feel like they know we don’t get behind them as an entire fanbase to want to win it.

I dunno. I shitted bricks for most of last season and that final day comeback was alongside my wedding day and birth of kids and trailing only Agueroooo. J/K but it was pretty fucking special
