Thanks for being so friendly, but obviously I want to win tomorrow. I am in a minority, because I have respect for Neil Warnock. Whatever anybody says about him, he has made best use of all his talents to succeed how many of us can say that. At Championship level there is not many better! I bet you have a big strong guy up front, with a bit of pace, who can lay off to runners who can score. I have been watching football thirty years. I hear all this pressing this and pressing that, but it was Warnock who started a lot of this with Beck who was at Cambridge at the time. Anyway all the best, but hope we win obviously. To all you City fans travelling down tomorrow I hope you have a safe trip down and chance to have a few beers in the city before the game tomorrow. Don't think you've anything to worry about from us tomorrow. We were punching well above our weight until Christmas but we've been sussed out since then. We seemed to have been labelled unfairly as a bunch of cloggers just a typical Warnock side. I have to say he's been bloody fantastic in the 16 months he's been with us. I've only ever seen Man City 4 times in all the years I've been watching football, and you've lost every game! 3 times against the bluebirds and once in the FACup at Brighton in 1983. I hope that record continues but not much bloody hope of that. Anyway. Enjoy your day out at our place tomorrow and good luck not that you need it for the rest of the season.
PS. It's going to be our biggest home crowd tomorrow since 1976 when we beat Hereford Utd in a division 3 game. Whatever happened to them!
...We need to have an aggressive midfield and strong defenders with pace. ...
I followed Manchester City around the country in the 1960s and 1970s and Ninian Park was certainly the most intimidating stadium for the visiting team that I have been to. Forget Anfield or Elland Road, Ninian Park was the most uncomfortable stafium to visit.Bluebirds fan here. I don't think you have too much to worry about tomorrow whatever team you put out, you should have enough quality to beat us.
It will be a full house, but since moving from Ninian Park the atmosphere is never quite as intimidating. Most Cardiff fans expect us to lose but just hope the scorelune is respectable.
I've read quite a few comments on this thread about us being cloggers and dirty. I can assure you we are not. We have a strong physical side and use power and pace if the opportunity arises. If we can keep scores level after 20 minutes we might grow into the game.......and then you never know, it is the FA Cup after all.
For those coming to the Capital I hope you have a great day out (bar the result of course). It's a great City with friendly people (the old days have gone). We are struggling to create opportunities at the moment so I predict 0-3. Enjoy the day.
You mean the very same Mangala aka treacle boots who Atrtnoutivic left for dead when we played west spam!Who of our defenders do you mean then, being stronger and quicker than Mangala?
Kompany? strong he is
Stones? neither
Otamendi? strong too
Tosin then?
If you only vote for strength and pace you right end up with - tatataaa: Mangala!
I remember it too, went to Ninion Park and saw Joe Mercer in the car park signing autographs think it was around 1965 though I maybe wrong. I recall a cup tie around 1967 which City somehow came out with a 1-1 draw before winning the replay at Maine Road.
Ninian Park looked a real mess at the time but it was a real cauldron of noise.
What crowd are they anticipating tommorow, I'm heading down myself tommorow .
It was 1967 I went from gorton with Clarabelle coaches. It was 1-1 at Cardiff and City won replay 3-1 I was there.I remember it too, went to Ninion Park and saw Joe Mercer in the car park signing autographs think it was around 1965 though I maybe wrong. I was 15 or so and it was a scary place then
