Cardiff (FA Cup 4th Rd ) Post Match Thread

Very worried for Vinny after today. I know he’s been out a while and so would be obviously a bit rusty. But he looked so slow and feared to jump to challenge for balls. So sad to be witnessing the demise of a great player and captain. When Laporte arrives I can’t see him getting a luck in. I’m praying I’m wrong and that he just needs a few games to get back to normal. But history tells me otherwise. He was looking for excuses today, so sad. If/when he is finished I hope the club keep him on to train him up to be Pep’s successor.

Thought he played well tbh

He was immaculate. 2nd half we slowed it down no doubt mindful of injury to players. It worked 2nd half even if became boring

Try re-reading.

Yeah I have. Still don’t understand what’s the difference between a young lad getting kicked or a experienced player. Sane got injured because he got kicked off the park, Sergio nearly got injured because he got snapped. So tell me what difference does it make if Diaz comes on and the Cardiff players do the same to him, which they did and it didn’t faze him. Sorry, I’m just a little bit pissed off not seeing him get sufficent minutes to impress, which he should be doing in games like this.

Sane injury aside that's my only negative from today's game and like you i thought he looked slow, hesitant and a shadow of the player we know he is capable of being.

genuinely of the belief that its as much a mental battle for Vinny now as it is physical.
