Cardiff (FA Cup 4th Rd ) Post Match Thread

Sane injury aside that's my only negative from today's game and like you i thought he looked slow, hesitant and a shadow of the player we know he is capable of being.

genuinely of the belief that its as much a mental battle for Vinny now as it is physical.
Can you remind me what Vinny did wrong... struggling here.

We were lucky Sane didn't have his leg broken - disgusting tackle.

Good performance 1st half and still none the wiser as to why Silva's goal was disallowed

Containing second half - job done

What was the second yellow like. Not seen a replay anywhere. Do they not want to show it because it’s just as bad as the first?

Vinny was just fine

Did what he had to do. Why would he stretch himself and put himself into situations where one of their pub players wouldn’t think twice about seriously injuring him?

We have been so so fortunate that one of our players hasn't had a career ender with refs and "pundits" giving their approval to teams kicking us off the park. Pep and the club need to kick up a stink now rather that wait till it has happened.

Very worried for Vinny after today. I know he’s been out a while and so would be obviously a bit rusty. But he looked so slow and feared to jump to challenge for balls. So sad to be witnessing the demise of a great player and captain. When Laporte arrives I can’t see him getting a luck in. I’m praying I’m wrong and that he just needs a few games to get back to normal. But history tells me otherwise. He was looking for excuses today, so sad. If/when he is finished I hope the club keep him on to train him up to be Pep’s successor.
Dont know about looking for excuses? I though he had a solid game.

I just thought he was poor mate. Won nothing of note in the air today which is a huge strong point of his and he was caught well out of position a few times which again for a man of his experience you just dont expect.

I fear his battle is in his own head right now and he is playing with the fear of another injury and at this level you cant do that.

Vinny, even at 50% gives me more confidence than Stones, not having a go at Stones but just being honest.

Players who are out injured for 2-4 weeks don't always come back at top speed straightaway. It could be 4-6 weeks before we get Leroy back and flying again..

Just thinking of KDB when he got injured at Palace. Hopefully same outcome
