Cardiff (FA Cup 4th Rd ) Post Match Thread

biggest advert today tocut the prem to 18 teams.what chance have hoofit/reduce it teams like Cardiff in the top league with that manager.Cut the teams still have relegation but would mean less fixture congestion

It's ridiculous. At this point just seems like every game there's at least one incident where our player could have gotten a serious injury.

It's understandable that to combat against Pep's tactics is to go aggressive, but there's a difference between proper footballing aggression and fielding 11 thugs.

This should be widely shared...Bennett is a little sh!t and fatty Mason not fit to referee...
I think that’s down to the assistant referee. The one who managed to spot a not offside Sané offside but couldn’t see that tackle, even though it was on his side. Although I don’t buy into the ‘agenda’ even I find it odd that this is the same assistant referee who couldn’t see Kyle Walker, in a white shirt, 5 yards offside, against City.
He was also an assistant when Kyle Walker, in a white shirt again, pushed Sterling and got off Scot free.
He was also an assistant when Spurs beat us 2-0 in the same season.
He’s been assistant in 12 PL games involving Spurs since 15/16 and they’ve lost none (a quarter of those games were against us). Still, let’s hope I’m on to something as he’s got Spurs on Wednesday!

It’s not about the ban for the Cardiff player it’s about stopping these players doing this in the first place. If they know they will be done after the event they possibly won’t do it in the first place. So that shin high tackle today might have just been a trip possibly no injuries

Yeah but I doubt he went on the pitch thinking he was going to do one of our players. That was a last ditch lunge that he got all wrong.
Agreed it may put off anyone that did think they should put a bad challenge in.
But doesn't stop the rest who see tackles go in during the game go unpunished and think that the ref is letting them all go.
It isnt the players attitude that needs to be changed/manipulated its the refs

i would love to see referee & linesman attending press conference.
they need to be responsible and explaining their decision.
Trouble us press conferences are often bear baiting pits where journos try and get people to say something controversial for a headline.
They are not disspasionate arbiters where people can be held to account
The FA process needs to be strong about examining a refs performance and I'm not sure that it is.

He was on pisscans hitlist in the past too (another decision against Spurs) and for not flagging a 2 yards offside goal by Drogba against United.

He is clearly inept.

You will be telling us next that certain teams of officials are hand picked for certain clubs/games? ;-)

The rules have to be changed. Mistimed tackles and accidents are one thing but just lately players have maliciously gone out of their way to deliberately injure our key players.

Retrospective action HAS to be taken against shit like this irrespective if they have been issued a yellow card or not. IG I was us I would say unless it happens we will play all our second string in every domestic cup competition and once we go ahead in the premiere league we will just do what we did in the second half at Cardiff.

What the.....?

The Cardiff manager, Neil Warnock, said: “City dished out a bit, as well. He [Guardiola] is in England. What do you expect? I suppose when you’re like that you want everything to be nice and pretty but you don’t get that in England. You get different challenges, don’t you?”

Arsehole.
