Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Question for those with a stat book handy or a bloody good memory:

Has Yaya ever been dropped as City player other than injury or suspension?

Not the first time he has had a poor game but he seems to have no fear of repercussions as he is first name on the team sheet, same as Hart. Don't care how good you are or how easily you can change the game some games he is a complete ghost.

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

I will be satisfied with a draw tommorow. We have Hull at home and Stoke away - a good chance to improve ahead of derby with the rags
Come on City!
It's just a begining

Today showed exactly why getting someone like Pepe on board, is a must.

Cardiff were nothing special today, but we lost, in the main, because we weren't able to cope with their "physical approach"

As most opponents will probably employ similar tactics, when we're on the road, we
desperately need someone in there who can give a bit back

Any of our newer supporters this is how it used to be following City in the past !!!
Older fans will know what I mean !

the new ones will get used it...

But anyone blaming Garcia solely is off their head...

The Cardiff goal was because we fell asleep and just got lazy and allowed them to walk the ball into our area... Clichy did not close his man down quick enough...

Lescott or Garcia should be marking Cambell on the set pieces no matter what. I think I even saw Lescott on the f*cking goal line for the 3rd goal! WTF was he doing there!!

Yes Zaba was at fault for letting Cambell score twice from corners but the entire defensive set up and organisation was wank on our end...

Had Vinny been there we would have had some kind of defensive leadership and organisation with set pieces...

As for Joe Hart, because we expect so much from him he gets abused for little mistakes, then again to play for a top team you have to be a top end GK like Cech and (hurts to say) De Gae who command their area...

All in all lessons learned quickly I hope for Pellegrini moving forward... Why the heel did Navas come off ?!

Very complacent today I thought, I think Pellegrini will have noticed that, won't be many who win at their place though the atmosphere there sounds great, but in general we should of beat them, Hart was awful today.
Not sure Hart was particularly bad, but I agree with you about the attitude. After starting so well against Newcastle, I thought you can see the difference between this season and last straight away, but today was terrible. Doesn't reflect well on the manager. This was our first away game in the Premiership and it was imperative we did not lose. Manager should have impressed that on the players and we should have seen the urgency in their play

What worried me was Pelegrini taking Navas off straight after we scored WHY?! keep him on and while Cardiff are on the back foot go at them and get another goal

I agree with this.

What to expect from Cardiff...

They are a big, strong team with a great work ethic due to Malky Mackay roaring them on from the touchline and players such as Bellamy accepting nothing less, with the addition of the new signings they should become even harder to beat. Cardiff are set piece masters as shown here http://youtu.be/jIWTPsDBVyA and work very very hard in closing down off the ball, they should have the right mix this season to stay up with a little bit of luck. Their most talented player in Kim Bo Kyung from South Korea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn2XnnnzrV4.

Well look at that.

“I don’t think centre halves were a problem at all,” Pellegrini said.

And I agree with him
