Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Another poor lack lustre effort against a side that had a better attitude than ours.

You can have all the money you want to buy individuals with talent and skill but if they don't have the will and desire to go with it you have very little.

We always hope today's performance will be the exception to the rule but it's unlikely it will be.

A better attitude amongst the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool this season and I will not be surprised if we finish below them come seasons end.

Just got back from the game are we in total meltdown yet?

Just got back myself (with a number of speeding fines probably on their way!) and read through a few pages. I actually thought we were a little bit unlucky to come away with the result. Yes they were shocking and we should be beating these teams but some of the reaction is unbelievable. "Won't finish top 4?" Come on lads, the Rags got beat first game last season and pissed it by 11 points. If Chelsea get beat tomorrow would you write them off?

We lost ONE game with 36 to play. MP will learn a lot from today and, as painful as it is now, this will put us in good stead for the season ahead.

Yaya should've done better with those lazy lofty long balls.

Disappointing...
I've never seen so many back passes in a single game in all my life.

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

I was looking forward to this game, hoping that City were going to continue to play along the lines of what they achieved on Monday - high pressing and quicker passing and movement. Today, there was no sign of that from the start, APART from the 2 minutes after Dzeko's goal. That was when I thought City would win because Cardiff were stretched in that small period and City were pressing. There was also a moment in this 2 minute period where their center halves collided and I think Navas should have slid Silva through. It was then that City needed to capitalize.

I very much beleive if it had become 2-0 soon after the 1st, City would have won comfortably.

Also, I thought Navas was meant for these 1-1 scenarios where we can't break teams down? Surely his speed and their late tiredness would have been a good factor for City.

Backbone and missing are the two words that come to mind.

Yes we were beaten at Cardiff and now is time to get behind the team even more fore the Hull game. We will still have a top
Season under Pelligrini.

I thought we had more about us them whingeing that we will finish outside the CL spots.

Brilliant shot stopping Joe but Inthink we might get targeted all season on crosses. People saying Blues were crazy for suggesting that Pants might get a few games this season need to wind their necks in. Joe deserved to keep his place for now but Pants needs to be given a chance if we continue to let in such soft goals.

The season ahead starts right here
And here I thought it did a week ago.
Some like you thought it began and ended a week ago. Wake up and sniff the coffee dude, success is earned, not a given right.

We've had one fantastic win ane one abject loss and a lot of us have overreacted to both. All I'm saying is it's best we put both games behind us, get real about the task in front of us and start again.

Good enough expaination for you?

Re: Cardiff Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Nice...79 pages of meltdown...haha. I refuse to sift through that bucket of shit... I'm over it. Cardiff deserved it, we didn't. 36 more games to get points so it's far from over...

Wow, so pissed after this game. Seemed the same as last season! Really hope Pellegrini can turn things around, don't want another frustrating season like last. And bring in a CB please. I know it's knee jerk but wow this has really made me wonder as to what we will be able to achieve this season.
