We have been linked with Carroll a couple of months back and someone quite reliable on here posted it. Can't remember who posted it (could have been fbloke). Everyone laughed it off, including me who did not rate Carroll at all from what i seen of him in the few Newcastle games i watched.

Could turn out to be true as one of the few in form strikers we could get who wouldn't be cup tied for Europa.

He causes havoc from crosses into the box, but we don't play that way at all. I doubt we even could if he was to sign. Can't see it and I'd be less than impressed if it happened.

Does anyone know how anyone found out about this?? Its my understanding that if a written transfer request is handed in to the club then the club don't technically have to release it till the week before transfer window opens??
