Carlos Tevez Announces Retirement From Football

Except for his AWOL for a golf holiday, I have great memories about Tevez when wearing our top. Always gave 100%. At the time a perfect buy and I will always fondly remember the “Welcome to Manchester” boards. He will never make my top 20 of favourite City players though.
I know we’ve had some fabulous players over the years but not to include Tevez in your top 20 shows you must have very high standards.

I don’t think any player changed the mentality of the club so much… maybe Yaya actually

Mancini changed it. Not so much Tevez unless he wanted his colleagues to play golf as well. Again Tevez was great. Nothing more though. Many overrate him due to the fact he made the switch from the rags and stood up against that lot.

I thought he was about 45 ish and long retired lol
He was the highest paid player in world football a few years ago playing in China. He was being paid £675k/week!

Then went to Boca and won three league titles.

I remember an interview with Lescott and Richards where they said Yaya told them not to worry because he was going to do something big in the semifinal against United.

He was far and away our best player in 2010/2011 and on the pitch took us to the important next level. Him and Yaya changed the mentality on the pitch. Silva and Aguero added to it.

of course Mancini was the most important as manager but Tevez took the 2009 side and made them compete for CL footy.

He watched the Madrid-City semi online with Kun. Cheering City on!

Apparently, when Tevez nipped to the toilet, Kun started telling all the viewers that Tevez had to retire because he was rubbish and that his beard was shit, Tevez came back and Kun pretended everything was normal and he’d said nowt, haha

The catalyst to our recent success. Maybe a difficult character at times evidenced by his dispute with Mancini but what a player. Seemed to drag us through games single handed at times with his incredible workrate and will to win.
Spot on. He played with the heart of a lion. Loved Tevez! We’ve been lucky to have two of the greatest strikers ever in the game and now we have another coming this season.
On a side note that billboard really balanced out the rags clock banner. In fact it was better because most of Manchester saw it daily.
