Carlos Tevez - the new Paul Dickov

If Carlos Tevez scores a replica of that goal Dickov scored in a cup final, then I will settle for that.

Confirmed again yesterday. Loads of energy spent chasing down the keeper which might work once a season (like at the derby) but when the ball comes to him to do what he is paid for (score) he scuffs his shot or blasts it over the bar.

The bloke can't kick the ball had enough and unbalances the side.

Other than Barry who is usually sat back and Adebayor the front six is just too small and lacking in physical presence. The only option when we want to be more direct when we play more direct is Adebayor. The only other team with such a lack of size is Arsenal and we are miles off their technical ability.

We need some physical power in the team AND size. Watch Chelsea cut through us and bully us when we play them.

Back four a shambles.
At least Dickov could speak English! I think Tevez is a bit dim and it shows in his decision making on the pitch.

Carlos Tevez is very overrated and never worth the money we've spent on him, he scored a few crackers at United but thats about it.

He's a good squad player, nothing more. Ferguson was laughing when he got rid of him and his sulking on the bench.

look at yesterday, at least he puts the work in, its nt going for him, he's not in a brilliant vain of form, but he still made stuff yesterday and put the effort in. Adebayor on the other hand was useless, worse than useless, he won nothing in the air yesterday and spent most the game fannying aroung out wide or 40 yards away from goal, and if that was bellamy or tevez when petrov put the ball across they would of slid in or made some effort to get the ball. Too apathetic. Atleast with Tevez he puts the work in to try and turn it round. Adebayor is world class when he's good but when he not in form, he is dismal. I guess we knew he was that sort of player, but it's then down to the manager to have the bottle to pull him off.

I thought he was quality yesterday, apart from swp he was the only one getting the ball and running at players. We all knew he wasn't a golascorer when we bought him but he creates chances. This thread just shows the negative shit and dillusioned people on this forum who expect is to be good instantly.

I think he's class.

Finishing hasn't been the best, but he has good control, his passing is quality, defending from the front is more important than people make out. Tevez is not our problem.

Our problem is the aimless balls forwards, we seem to lack patience as a team, espcially Bridge (who i think has otherwise been brilliant this season so far) and Lescott.

Build your attacks rather than trying to get it forwards so early, we do all the hard work of winning the ball back, Tevez hassles defenders and the goalkeeper, they boot it up the pitch to us (you'd be amazed how often we actually gain possession from this), then we play a couple of simple passes and boot it straight back, wasting all that hard work.

If the team was more carefull with possession, then we'd be dominating matches.

When did Dickov ever score in a Cup Final?

Tevez in my eyes was definetly one of the better players on the park yesterday. I think we need to give the guy time, i guarantee hw will be a hero at this club. im certain of it
