Torres - same age as Tevez, similar wage bracket, 1 Premier League goal between December and May. It'd be the most pointless transfer ever. Someone younger and with hunger to achieve things. Torres has won everything.

I agree!

Wayne Rooney Or Luis Suarez are the only options imo

This. But it depends, are we after a secondary striker or a proper goalscorer?
If it's the first one, Jovetic could be an option. But if it's the latter Higuain or Lewandowski would be good.

Not to get too off topic but I would be shocked if we even enquired about villa, he's getting past it and his wage demands are way too high for what he's offering. Let levy overpay the fool.
Our Spanish blokes have been known to buy older players in the past. The brought in Henrik Larsson on a free when he was 33, paid €24m for Thierry Henry when he was 30, bought Eidur Gudjohnsen when he was nearly 29 and David Villa at 28.

But just on the age issue, Jovetic doesn't need to be as good as Tevez now to be a good replacement. He's only 23, so he'll improve every year.

Hold the phone boys:

RT @ianherbs: Carlos Tevez - Im told personal terms are nowhere near to being agreed. This may not be over yet #mcfc

not done yet it seems, herbs is a reliable guy

I like the look of Benteke but if we do sell Tevez then we need a TOP class striker as a matter of urgency, someone who can play up front on his own against the big teams and contribute regular goals.

Say what you like about Tevez but he's a big game player and we can't be taking chances on players who only offer promise at this stage. Aguero was poor last season, he needs to work on his fitness and Dzeko blows hot and cold - if we sell Tevez then we need to have someone reliable lined up.

I'd be looking at Benzema but I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with Suarez, regardless about what he says about the UK press.
