Cars - flipping annoyances

Many, many things under this heading but at the moment its lights. The Mrs has a Hyundai - recently had a brake light out - no probs says I - change the bulb. Did it but only by dismantling a ton of plastic boot lining.

I had a Scenic for a while - headlight out - change the bulb by taking the the wheel arch liner out to access the back of the unit to fit a bulb. Bastard of a job.

Have another Scenic now and side light is out....I can guess the procedure.

Are modern cars just too awkward and to clever for their own good?
Get rid mate, cars are a complete waste of money, the biggest waste of money we have in our lives!

I had a car from when I got my first job after you until early this year. Always thought I wanted one and needed one...

After it broke down (again) and was going to cost more to fix than it was worth, i ditched it. I now cycle or walk everywhere and it’s so much better, I’ve got loads of spare cash, I’m fitter, I’m in miles better shape...

Unless you really do need it, I’d advise anyone to ditch their cars and use their legs. I can’t believe I wasted all those thousands of pounds over the years on those big heaps of junk.

It’s got to the point where I’ve been enlightened so much by getting rid, that I can’t believe people have cars anymore!

Also, a mate of mine is a mechanic, and he says that mechanics/garages are the biggest crooks in the trades industry. Many are rip-off merchants who make up things that are wrong with peoples’ cars and just “fix” or change things that there’s nothing wrong with. As someone who is adamant at being straight as an arrow, all the others piss him off.

Ah, the old MOT...no such thing here, if it runs you can drive it
Seriously? Wow. We brought in the NCT (our equivalent of the MOT) 20 years ago...

You get 4 years grace from the car being first registered. Then it's every 2 years, up to the car being 9 years old. After that, it's every year. To be fair, it has taken a lot of dangerous old wrecks off the road. Cars too!

I did - but I replaced it with a little Matiz - proper little buzz box - had it a month and just refilled it today - gas guzzling bastard had consumed £20 worth of fuel in 4 weeks ha ha ha

Give us a clue: How many miles in the 4 weeks? £20 worth for 50 miles is crap, but for 500 miles is brilliant. I'm guessing it's somewhere in between.

It's like this with any technology nowadays. Try and change the battery on a new laptop or phone.

Yeah , as i'm finding out .... can i get into the back of my Samsung Galaxy tablet ?

Can i fuck !

I think the chosen ones who loiter deep in the bowels of Samsung have superglued the the fucker on!

I've got an optima, 18 plate. Quite like it actually, but not overly impressed with kia or their warranty
An update on my Optima
It's in for its service today and
A recall issue,
The hill assist makes a real thud when released
And the carbon monoxide!

Had a call from the dealership and they've told me I'm keeping the courtesy car until at least Monday as one of the injectors, that were replaced on a recall 3 months ago, has melted
