Cars - flipping annoyances

well to my amazement the Scenic which was a failure waiting to happen took me on a family holiday from Nth Yorks to Bournemouth and back without a hiccup ( other than the usual array of warning lights ) but its fate was sealed.
This year I have done few miles except the holiday and found a Chevrolet Matiz - 10 years old but a 2nd car for a household and only done 11.5k miles so I bought that 4 weeks ago. Cheap. handy motoring - aircon, leccy widows, C/L do me for now then give to one of my kids ( if they can be arsed to learn to drive ) - its dead funny to go thru gaps that were once just a pipe dream - £25 to fill up.......haven't had to refill yet.
Chevrolet you say???!!!

My car of 10+ years finally got its first ECU warning light yesterday. I suspect it might be something to do with the constant rain we're seeing.

Finally got an excuse to buy one of those OBD monitors so I'm interested to see what that says.

For the last 10 years or so we have had Kia's, 2 Picantos and a Sportage, not one bit of trouble with them, cheap to run.
My company car is a Kia Optima
It's been in three times for "recall" issues and I've also taken it in because it went into limp mode and next week it's in again because I'm being carbon monoxide poisoned. I think it's something to do with the manifold which I believe is the only bit of the exhaust system covered by the warranty

I've got an optima, 18 plate. Quite like it actually, but not overly impressed with kia or their warranty

Double whammy - the Alfa Guilietta has got what looks like a line cut with a knife developed above dashboard which looks like the airbag trying to push through - garage are convinced we must have a shunt which we didn’t

On the f-pace we have the exhaust sounds like it’s about to fall off when parked in idle

Damn they're both nice new cars and they're still playing up. Funny how they think you've been in a shunt. Does the front bumper not answer their question?

My issue has been (temporarily?) fixed. I just refuelled the car and now the engine management light has gone...
