CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

The loser's statement:
UEFA takes note of the decision taken by the Court of Arbitration for Sport to reduce the sanction imposed on Manchester City FC by UEFA’s independent Club Financial Control Body for alleged breaches of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.

UEFA notes that the CAS panel found that there was insufficient conclusive evidence to uphold all of the CFCB’s conclusions in this specific case and that many of the alleged breaches were time-barred due to the 5 year time period foreseen in the UEFA regulations.

Over the last few years, Financial Fair Play has played a significant role in protecting clubs and helping them become financially sustainable and UEFA and ECA remain committed to its principles.

UEFA will be making no further comments on the matter.

Off you fuck shitbags.

Burnley????

Ok, so great result but I suspect ike many others I have an issue with the fine. Reading the CAS info, and we will get more shortly, it is because we failed to cooperate with them, which sounds like CAS refused our argument over concerns of a UEFA leak / mole.

I suspect that at some point in the UEFA investigation we saw where it was heading and shut up shop, and CAS haveto show that non-cooperation is not an option, but that's still a big fee to pay for not providing something which isn't actually specificed yet - unrealistic to have asked us to provdie another company's accounts, so must be to do with us just not talking to Laterme and his team once we saw the process with not fair. If so that's a heavy fine even if it is a third of the original and a big part of me says why should we pay a fine to fund a flawed and biased process?

Still, the bigger picture - UEFA acted without reason or evidence to ban us. That's the bigger win. Maybe we claw back more than €10m in our own actions in the fall out of this all.

We haven’t been exonerated, as such.

Reading it, it seems like UEFA couldn’t prove we were guilty to a good enough extent so the ban has been overturned but it hasn’t been proven that we did nothing wrong.

This is great for the club being able to play in the CL next season and ongoing, but hasn’t done anything for our reputation like being absolved of guilt/proven innocence would have done.
Can live with that for sure compared to what we faced half an hour ago
