CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

I understand the fans anger towards the media, what we need to understand is that the media industry is now based on sensationalist articles and headlines used to drive online clicks to a publisher's website and in context we're still a small club for generating clicks and people engaging with articles pro-city vs anti-city/pro liverpool/utd. Also there is an over-indexing of liverpool and utd fans in the media, (mentioned by Duncan Castle himself in the latest transfer podcast), and that either conscious or unconscious bias will effect the clubs reporting.

City need to have a long-term plan to alter the media reporting. Offer sports journalism courses from the Etihad campus. Target younger markets where professions have yet to be decided, and then organically we'll have a better, accurate representation in the media.

this isn't about generating clicks, this is about a couple of clubs heavily influencing the football media for their own ends. The Liverpool hacking scandal should have been a massive story generating lots of "clicks", however, it was hardly mentioned. Over the last few years, we've seen how certain united managers are barely criticised despite abject performances, again, utd bashing would get loads of clicks; that is until the club wants rid of them and their press mates get the nod to do the dirty work. Throw in a few partisan fanzine writers like Evans, Ogden and Rudd, and this is where we are with the media - nothing but low quality guff bereft of any objectivity, impartiality or informative insight

I think it’s was 5.5m emails AND documents.

Also presumably if I write an email to confirm a transfer meeting and CC in Pep, Khaldoon, Txiki, the secretaries, the head scout etc. then that 1 email I have sent has generated a further 6+ emails. If I attach 2 power points covering our transfer targets and possible sales, and a word document of the meeting's agenda then that's generated 18 documents.

So from 1 message, you've created up to 30 "emails and documents" to be stolen.

I've not been to a CL game since I drew a line in the sand after the Real semi but, when we can reasonably safely go to games again I'll pop along to one and join in not with the boos but the laughing 'ala laughing policeman' which I think would be more apt in future.

Tony Evans' diatribe today in the Indie is hilarious in how much spin is applied to discredit UEFA.

Oh, and somewhat laissez faire approach to detail. I like "City were obstructive to the point where the panel fined them £27m."
