CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

That must be a possibility. Qatar?
The idea that an impoverished student could afford the software, hardware and running time to pull off one of the biggest hacks of all time and did it all from a back bedroom is just ludicrous.
I think you underestimate how easy it is to break into a companies email system if their is minimal security applied.

My view is and was, when Pinto was arrested the first thing he asked for, was r police protection for himself and his family, Portuguese authorities have repeatedly refused to extradite him to America, and Pinto does not want to go there, you do not find a hacking blackmailer down the local, and he did not do the job on City for free,Pinto was hired by someone who had paid him off before, for me this points to the Fenway group
Given the (very) broad scope of what it is he's alleged to have hacked, it wasn't the Fenway Group. It's got Qatar s grubby little paws all over it with a sweetener thrown in for Pinto in regards to the Portuguese clubs. I think Qatar either did it themselves and gave him the information or they gave him the tools and security flaws to aim for.

I think it's a conclusion that has been drawn by retrofitting because Qatar is a convenient source from other matters going on currently. It does seem likely that this was an organised action, but I don't think there is more evidence that it was Qatar than that it was Norway.

The whole hack was huge, millions and millions of records, only a small percentage were to do with football, and even fewer to do with City - this was explained by others involved in sieving the files for interest.

Compare this articulate response to the childish, bitter, inaccuracies that Carragher spewed out. Worlds apart. He even got in about a United having investment years ago so he knows his history too.

I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but he has to be respected for this.

Carragher was warned/threatened with his job after he made his first comment, Neville was more professional taking his time assessing the situation before commenting, SKY can not afford to be seen as not neutral

You are aware that our hack is the absolute minimum of what he is accused of?
Lots of other hacks have been done to power Footy Leaks. I'm just pointing out that it isn't difficult to hack an email syaten if there is minimal security deployed.
The fact that ONLY 20 or so emails where published out of the hundreds of thousands on the system - all 20 of which had no context shows how poor UEFA's case was. If there was a smoking gun 20 or 30 related emails on the bounce would have been published giving the exact context.

If he had just stolen emails....
If the hack was not so large as to make wikileaks look like a tea party........
You might have a point.

Possible but Klopps reaction was very similar to Peps albeit polar opposites, like someone in the know?, liverpool have done an awful lot wrong over the last few years, with no punishment or even accusations, Pinto would have seen all that, there is the American attack on Addidas and Beckenbauer which both evaporated, and the huge pressure we were causing the American owned EPL clubs with FIFA`s world club league.
America has always had a divide and conquer attitude when dealing with the Middle East

it could be one of several groups. I suspect our owners know. I just hope the truth gets out and those responsible are dealt with. Re Fenway Sports - there’s clearly a culture of cheating in that group so who knows.

Carra is destined to be toast. Should have gone with the spitting incident. He is too unaware not to make crass errors. Wont last.

Maybe i posted this on the wrong thread previously, but i guess it relates to both this thread and the Media Thread. I have read and taken on board what so many knowledgeable Blues have had to say. I do not know if this has been said before, but in reading this snippet from this Sweeney character, it brings this back to the forefront of my mind-

Manchester City are football's most despicable club and Pep Guardiola its most despicable manager. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decision overturning their Champions League ban doesn't change that.

The decision hardly constitutes a ringing exoneration of City's financial behaviour. While it found that some of the allegations made by UEFA against the club were "not established", it acquitted them on others solely because they fell outside the time limit during which such cases can be dealt with.

I refer to the time limit. In a Criminal Court or Civil Court, certain evidence can be deemed inadmissible for whatever reason, meaning the Defence, Prosecution , Defendant or Claimant cannot rely on certain evidence in Court. A Judge can advise a Jury to disregard certain evidence that may be passed in a Trial. If City have laid down a marker at the Appeal, that certain evidence from UEFA is time barred in the first instance, but City being ready to argue against the veracity of UEFA's time barred evidence, am I correct in assuming that the three Judges, in accepting that certain evidence was time barred, could simply look at what evidence is deemed time barred and therefore not examine or consider it, as there would simply be no point in considering such evidence from a legal point of view, it would be wasting their time.

Such a lack of consideration of any time barred evidence, could well have led to the pretty bland statement from the Court that some of the evidence presented by UEFA was time barred. Have these great minded Journalists considered the point that the time barred evidence could also have been interpreted that City did nothing wrong, instead of jumping on the bandwagon that the time barred evidence must show City to be guilty???

You know what I did nor will understand?

Why, when something is supposed not te be read, seen or heard by third party’s, why put it in writing in an email or whatever document.
We all remember why Garry Cook left the club (or had to leave).

Btw I too think it’s a lot more political than some think. There’s a hell of a lot of money involved. Imho an Arab owner doesn’t go well with American based clubs, unless -like Quatar has done- you offer a World Cup in exchange for a seat in the UEFA-board.
