Fair do's, I just wonder where its going. The vulnerable will be the ones that lose out. If you're homeless but then get help with a house, can you still access benefits as you need a bank account ?
Banks are a business purely designed to make profit. The poor are not the customers banks want.

Pretty much all organisations that deal with vulnerable people will have an agreement with a local bank to give people a basic bank account.

Whether they are homeless charities, prisons, organisations that deal with bankruptcies or other similar.

I’ve not read much Farage has had to say past the headlines but he’s been very economical with the truth if he’s claiming himself or just about anyone else can’t get a bank account of some sort.

I'm not sure about the UK but banks here have to agree to a charter for their banking license, a sort of code of conduct. If they don't comply they can lose their banking license.

This is my banks statement; (Note the 2nd point). I'm sure banks in the UK have similar.

They were right about Covid being a hoax, but then real when they said 5G caused it, but then a hoax again, but then when it was real again when they said they they made it in a lab, but then a hoax again, but then real again when they said they released it on the world so they could put microchips in vaccinations to control us, but then a hoax again, but then real again when they said they released it to reduce the world population, but then a hoax again, but then real again when they said they released it to bring out a vaccine to kill us and reduce the world population, but then a hoax again… I can’t remember where they’re up to in their hoax:real to-and-fro now but they’ll be right about it whichever end they’re on at the moment.

It's the CBDC's you have to worry about, not paying with your card like now. When the government can take financial privileges away for posting the wrong word on social media, saying the wrong thing in a call to parents, or sending the wrong photo to relatives, individuals self‐censor and exercise extreme caution. In this way, control over money can create a social chilling effect. I work for a bank in the IT dept and the amount of info they have about people, by mining your transactions is unreal. When the Govt have this info, they could impose limits on how you spend it.. Eat too many takeaways, they could limit you to once week, on the pretext of it's bad for your health. On the dole and smoke too much, they could impose a ration. Avoid it like the plague

They could impose limits on how you spend on those things without data trawling now by imposing a ration stamp card for takeaways and cigarettes that you cannot make a transaction on those things without them and you have your card marked every time you buy a takeaway and cigarettes, and when you reach the weekly limit you can’t buy any more.

But they don’t!

Maybe they should though, since they are bad for your health?

I assume you have a mobile phone, internet ip address, credit card, social media accounts, car registration, council tax account, NHS number, tax file number, dog license, BBC license, Netflix etc etc.

I guess in life there are people who subserviently doff there caps and accept what they are told to do and there are those who question.
Ultimately, nothing will change and if the gov want a cashless society we will get one.
