Anyone who has been to Spain to watch City won’t be surprised by the actions of the Spanish police here. A bunch of fascist thugs.

The fact that happens in a European country in 2019 without one political leader saying anything is so depressing. An unarmed non violent girl violently pushed to the floor, lads beaten with batons as they walked with their hands in the air. I am sorry but that is wrong at every single level. It does not matter what your political view is about what is happening, thugs wearing a uniform are still thugs. If that was in Russia the west would be in uproar.
We can make a joke on here about many things, we can argue about just about everything but I hope everyone condemns these actions.

A terrible situation that no one comes out of well and will divide the country until the inevitable break up. A sad state of affairs. Spain should have just allowed a referendum a few years ago because the Catalans didn’t have the numbers then. They will have now.

Of course. It’s a disgrace. There are many in the Valencia, Basque, Andalusian regions etc that will defend the Catalans. Spain has got itself into a terrible situation where there’s no way out, just like Brexit.
