To be honest their attitude baffles me - surely best to maintain the line that the vote is against the law that the result will not be recognised and blame the Catalan Govt for wasting a lot of time and money - then just ignore the whole thing. Bashing old folks over the head and all what is gong on just makes the Govt look like the ones acting outside the law and repressing people.

Just the fact old people are getting duffed up is enough for me to be with them and against whoever is doing the duffing up. If it were the hoodie wearing maskie loons i'd have thought Meh, but knocking pensioners about doesn't look and isn't good.

Spain could have let them vote, then even if they voted yes fuck them about that much that they would vote to stay with Spain on the 2nd or 3rd referendum.

Bang on. I’m not in the least bit surprised though after what I witnessed in Madrid when we played our CL semi. The police are utter c*nts over there and how they constantly get away with it is beyond me.

Utter shit houses. This is why police should be forced to wear easily visible identity cards of some sort, otherwise they know they are free to just attack people without consequence. The Spanish government have always been cunts to everyone outside Madrid though, so it's not surprising they sanctioned this bullshit.

Completely unnecessary and counterproductive though as people have pointed out, all it will have done is make it abundantly clear to everyone in Catalonia that they need independence from these cunts, when previous to this it was a pretty even split. All that over essentially a symbolic vote of no consequence.

All this is gonna do is make those who were on the fence about the whole thing land firmly on the side of independence. So many peaceful ways Spain could have dealt with this but instead they send in the thugs to twat old people.
