Caught smoking in the ground

Smoking in the toilers is just selfish, However i dont see why people cant go to the spiral to smoke, city should change the rules.

Or prehaps a designated smoking area with good ventilation like they do in pubs. However it is knowing where to put it.

another law that cant be policed and i dont mean the smoking ban,why have a ban when you simply move to another seat with another card would the club not be better off having a fine system say £30 and until its paid the season tickret is disabled

the money could go towards some ash trays in the bogs

football clubs have no authority to fine anyone, the same as supermarkets for parking infringements or any other private organisation. only national or local government organisations have the authority to levy fines.

I'm not a smoker but really don't get why people risk it.

Is it really that hard to go a couple of hours without?

No, it isn't. Can usually manage it no problem at all.

However, at the last derby at COMS I had a sneaky one on the spirals. Me and about 20 others within about 50 yards.

If I had got caught I would accepted whatever punishment was meted out.

Was in the 111 toilets against Blackburn, as they're straight outside aisle 110, they're disgusting. Absolutely vile, think I'll head down a few blocks to the other toilets if it's gonna be that horrible.

It's almost impossible to catch anyone in there as it's so densely packed with dozens and dozens of people smoking it would be an intense physical work out to even catch the offender.

I know we've had this debate before and it wont change anything, but it's jut my opinion.

i have seen stewards nick people in there only to let them go because of the intimidation from the other smokers, tbh if i was a steward i would just walk through and out the other side avoiding conflict

Not going into the morals of it but it was interesting to see the difference at Sunderland and Tottenham.

On the opening day no beer at half-time and police walking through the bogs, whereas at Sunderland I walked in the bogs and felt like i'd entered Silent Hill!!

when the hatton fight was on at the stadium they fenced an area off outside so you could go for a cig. why not just do that? derby do it and i'm sure other clubs do. i understand none smokers not liking it around them, and this doing this would solve everyones problem.

when the ban was intruduced the police did patroll the bogs in the south stand but have since given up,its not a police matter they are not intrested in someone having a quick puff

i got caught by a steward lasy year. He took my fag off me , had three drags, blew it in my face and then flicked it over the spiral wall onto whoever was underneath. I complained and he said fuckoff before i have you thrown out.

Seen the exact same thing last season at the Arsenal cup game. Three stewards came in and tried to take a young bloke, probably only about 18 or 19 out for smoking, he was an 'easy target' so to speak. It was the first time I'd been in those toilets so didn't know what to expect.

The three stewards grappled with him and tried to eject him from the ground to a lot of other smokers' disapproval and without much notice there was the 'mob mentality' and about a dozen or perhaps more charged at those 3 stewards and dragged the teen back into the group. Obviously nothing could be done after that.

As you say, intimidation from a large group is why the stewards are effectively powerless.

its the showsec people that throw you out for smoking, ironically during the Timisoara game I went for a pee half way through the first half and one of those people was having a fag outside the mens toilets on the spiral of CBL2, it was a women and she had a showsec hi-vis vest on
