Cavani (continued)

I don't understand why these players sign contracts with outrageous release clauses. Surely they must want to have the option to move on to bigger clubs with better wages, status and opportunities for silverware? He has effectively priced himself out of the market now unless the board settles for a lot less, which is not likely. One has to wonder what these agents are doing to deserve the obscene fees they earn.

I'm not particularly interested in the Carvani transfer saga but the way it ended seems really strange to me.

Player / agent uses interest to get mega new deal on wads of cash - if he wants a transfer next year, kicks up a fuss and someone would get him. Happens all the time, how often are release clauses met?

Well look at Hulk to Chelsea this summer. Chelsea aren't exactly cheap but Porto refused to bend on the outrageous price tag attached to his contract.

How is signing a forward going to help us?

It was clear from last January that we need a cb and a midfielder. We have Rodwell so I suppose if we get no one else then that will have to do but at the back we have kolo and savic as back up. Not good enough and if we only sign one more player it has to be in that position.

glad he's signed a new contract - i would want him in a city shirt but for me i can't see a reason for us needing him unless one of our strikers leaves, but even then, i would want guidetti to get a chance - as long as he doesn't sign for any of our main rivals i'm happy

ive got a feeling its not cavani we are after we all know we need a centre back or a centre midfielder wouldnt be suprised if we were after inler looked quality against us.

good shout, although i haven't seen enough of him to make a proper judgement, but he did impress me in the CL last season...

Watching body language before Dzeko brought on as a sub against pool, he was sat next to Mancini didn't look to me that Dzeko was leaving.
