Cavani & Falcao

Re: Cavani & Falcao

I don't really get where the idea Falcao is leagues ahead of Cavani comes from.

In effectiveness they're similar just Falcao has slightly better movement and marginally better finishing and Cavani is stronger, more hardworking and versatile.

I'd go for Cavani myself as he could be as much our Drogba as our RVP.

Falcao is more clinical but they are both among the most clinical strikers in Europe. This is a list I made in the Higuain thread, it only covers league stats so isn't 100% accurate but gives a good idea of how efficient these strikers are. I agree that Cavani's strength and workrate could benefit him in the Premier League, though Falcao's movement around the box is simply amazing and he is hard for defenders to track.

Messi - 43 goals, 151 shots = a goal every 3.5 shots
Higuain - 12 goals, 47 shots = a goal every 3.9 shots
Lewandowski - 21 goals, 82 shots = a goal every 3.9 shots
Mandzukic - 15 goals, 63 shots = a goal every 4.2 shots
Falcao - 22 goals, 95 shots = a goal every 4.3 shots
Ibrahimovic - 26 goals, 133 shots = a goal every 5.11 shots
Cavani - 22 goals, 124 shots = a goal every 5.6 shots
Michu - 17 goals, 99 shots = a goal every 5.8 shots
Benzema - 8 goals, 47 shots = a goal every 5.9 shots
Van Persie - 19 goals, 114 shots = a goal every 6 shots
Dzeko - 12 goals, 73 shots = a goal every 6.08 shots
Rooney - 12 goals, 76 shots = a goal every 6.3 shots
Ronaldo - 29 goals, 203 shots = a goal every 7 shots
Aguero - 10 goals, 72 shots = a goal every 7.2 shots
Suarez - 22 goals, 174 shots = a goal every 7.8 shots
Jovetic - 12 goals, 97 shots = a goal every 8.08 shots
Tevez - 10 goals, 86 shots = a goal every 8.6 shots

Thanks LC, hadn't realised Higuain was quite so deadly.

Lewandowski is second only to Messi in those stats, (if you take the goals to shots to next dp). He's going to be a bargain for someone this summer!

Proves how Michu could step up to CL level too.

On Falcao and Manchester United (don't look for certainties, only one)

For those of you who are looking for certitudes, for black or whites, for ‘never mind negotiations, is he definitively going?’, stop reading here because nothing is definitive in this saga yet.

The story comes from Madrid. Manchester United, I have been told, have paid an advance figure (which varies depending who you ask) for Falcao. That would mean that they are willing to pay 60 million euros for him. All that money for one player? That is the part that I cannot comprehend.

If it is true that they have made an advance payment like they did with De Gea, it means that they will almost certainly get the player. Do Manchester United need another striker? It is becoming obvious by the day that they are selling Wayne Rooney, but will anybody buy? Madrid and Barcelona are not interested. Not many other options left, and they are all in England: Chelsea, City? So they will need to sell Rooney to follow up that payment with the rest of the huge fee.

To complicate matters, Real Madrid have set eyes on two players and the media will start the saga as soon as they get KOd from the Champions League (or win it): Gareth Bale and Kun Agüero. If Kun goes, then there is a space open for Rooney, but there are lots of bridges to cross before we get there.

So, the only certitude is that from the Spanish club the leak is that Manchester Unite have made a payment for Falcao. Are they trying to push for a deal, are they trying to warn other potential suitors (Chelsea and PSG, mainly. City are not looking to replace Agüero… if they convince him to stay)

We are at that stage of the season where, yes, annoying I know, but anything can happen still

So basically falcao could go to united, psg or chelsea
rooney could be sold to chelsea or city
aguero could go to real madrid

the more I read from this guy the more i'm convinced he knows nothing.

Replacing Kun with Rooney is a bargain lads, you know nothing! (ends sarcasm) No way in hell do I want us to sell Kun, and I dont want Rooney near City. Kun is going nowhere so let them talk all they want!
