Falcao has 21 goals in 25 La Liga games (+ 1 assist), from 88 shots. 1 goal per 4.19 shots.

Cavani has 22 goals in 27 Serie A games (+ 2 assists), from 117 shots. 1 goal per 5.3 shots.

Van Persie, the man either would be brought in to try and match, has 19 goals in 30 Premier League games (+ 8 assists, a stat that can't be overlooked). 1 goal per 5.78 shots.

Falcao is more clinical but the difference isn't as huge as some make out. One thing in Cavani's favour is he works harder tracking back. However, Falcao's movement in the box is superior, superior to just about any striker in the world in fact.

The reason I think Mancini would prefer Cavani is what I said, the way he puts in a shift and you will sometimes see him sprinting back to help out. Mancini has a borderline obsession with everyone playing their part defensively, you won't get this with Falcao but will with Cavani. Most managers would favour Falcao I think but I believe Cavani is the one Mancini wants (but is Mancini calling the shots anymore?).

I agree with all of that but would also add Cavani's game suits the Prem more with him being physical and stronger with his stats proven against Italian defences.

Don't get me wrong, Falcao is clinical and his stats prove this but the same thing was said about Forlan before he come to the Prem and we all know what happened there?

The only forwards in the world better than Falcao are Messi & Ronaldo. Van Persie & Falcao probably on a par.

As someone has already mentioned our targets for me should be Falcao > Suarez > Cavani.

We obviously need to strengthen quite a few areas but we badly need firepower but if we don't sign one of those 3 in the summer we can forget challenging for the league against the rags and a (likely) Mourinho Chelsea side IMO.

Opinions......opinions!

In reference to Mourinho, it'll be interesting to see what happens if Chelsea don't make top 4?......no chance of him going there if they're not in the Champs League.

He will go anywhere if the

is right

I honestly think Mourinho's own ego is bigger than his drive for money so he'll surely want a club where he can challenge for the elusive Champion's league trophy. Or it might just be enough for his ego that Abramovich has come crawling back to him.

Lol, Mourinho is not going to Chelsea if they don't make Top 4, huge salary or not. If they do miss out on it I could see Moyes being recruited or possibly one of their former players like Zola, Poyet, Petrescu, etc.

Seeing Chelsea's schedule I kind of have the feeling they won't be able to stay in 4th and may lose out to Arsenal..

Anyways, Falcao has scorred another goal against Valencia!

Your not far off the money there M14

Arsenal and Spuds have an easier run in as well, in my opinion

For me it would have to be Falcao, if only because he is more clinical. We have suffered this season because our strikers haven't scored. Falcao is probably the most clinical striker in the world when in the oppositions area. Cavani appears to be slightly quicker and stronger than Dzeko, but is he really that much different than Dzeko. Both have/would score goals in the premier league but I believe both are inconsistent and I can't blame Dzeko the way he appears to have been treated by Mancini and in the press, while at City.

Both play in teams that are evenly matched but Cavani has 31 goals while Falcao has 28 goals. As for this whole style of play stuff, Cavani seems like he can score in any way, long range, free kicks, headers, finish a break away, right place at right time. Besides, it seems like we will also be adding some players to the midfield so that the service will be more varied and consistent (another AM who can play through balls, deep-lying playmaker or a winger). Here I have found videos of most of Cavani's goals for Napoli, you can determine for yourself.

33 goals in 2010/2011: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLheFSzglDc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLheFSzglDc</a>

Can't find one that his up to date with all goals up to the 2 vs. Torino last night, but here is an older one showing goals in Serie A up to February 14: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdXkU951WoA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdXkU951WoA</a>

I really think Aguero can do this for us. I think he would have improved this season if he hadn't spent half of it injured. He had 30 goals and 10 assists in his first season here, and he's got 3 years on Falcao.
