Tolms info recently hasn't been anywhere near definitive, more suggestions than facts.

Not sure whether that's because he's not been told any new info or if he's withholding it for a bit.

Or he's just expressing his opinion. I think some posters feel that he can't post without offering concrete information. He's entitled to his opinions as much as the next man!

Edinson Cavani is in negotiations with both Manchester City and Real Madrid but NOT Chelsea - according to the player's mother.

The Napoli striker is one of the most wanted men in Europe after another stunning campaign in Serie A.

That has led to links with English giants Chelsea and City, as well as Real Madrid.

And Berta Gomez, Cavani's mother, has gone on radio in his native Uruguay to reveal all about her son's transfer.

In the interview she confirms talks with City and Real, but has revealed Chelsea have not made an official move to meet Cavani's release clause, which is set at £53.9m.

And she says any deal will be sealed within three weeks.

"Edi is in talks with Manchester City and Real Madrid," Gomez told a radio station in Montevideo, the Gazzetta dello Sport has reported.

"The Napoli president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] talked about the possibility of negotiating with Chelsea, but at the moment there is nothing concrete. In 15 or 20 days we will know more and be able to say something.

"I assure you that however it goes, he loves Naples and if he leaves he would never forget the love and affection of the people there.

Lewandowski is the only striker that is potentially available? that would be as well suited to the PL.
If Chelsea get Cavani and Utd get Lewandowski/Ronaldo I think we will be competing with Arsenal for 3rd place!

What about dries mertens,who Napoli are supposedly looking at to replace cavani?
Only 26,got a good goal scoring record at PSV,37 goals in 62 apps...looks a quality player..
Some vids on YouTube,can't put one on from iPad........I'd have him at city,no problem.

Agreed. Discerning between the two seems to confuse a lot of people and cause extreme flapping

I think Napoli will buy him before the sale of Cavani meaning if we intervened our chances of Cavani would fall dramatically

Well Chelsea have just signed Schurrle. So at present they have Schurrle, Ba, Torres, Lukaku

As someone else pointed out, Schurrle is a winger. It would be like saying we now have Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko and Navas to compete with Cavani. Doesn't make any sense.
