Re: Cavani Speculation/News

Talk about Shoot on Sight, knell could not be a bigger contrast to our pass-it-into-the-net current set-up. Just pay the price City, one-man wrecking ball.

Metro are also running the story about a possible Dzeko plus cash deal:

<a class="postlink" href="http://metro.co.uk/2013/05/21/napoli-and-manchester-city-in-talks-over-edison-cavani-and-edin-dzeko-swap-deal-3803029/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://metro.co.uk/2013/05/21/napoli-an ... l-3803029/</a>

Napoli president reveals talks have begun with Manchester City over Edison Cavani and Edin Dzeko swap deal.

Manchester City appear set to beat Chelsea to the signing of Edison Cavani with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis admitting negotiations have begun over a deal that could include Edin Dzeko heading in the opposite direction.

De Laurentiis was in England with the Italians’ sporting director Riccardo Bigon and managing director Andrea Chiavelli for meetings on Monday.

It was suggested that the delegation were in London to try and persuade outgoing Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez to become Napoli’s new head coach.

However, De Laurentiis rejected this notion and instead revealed that talks over a possible deal to exchange Cavani for Dzeko plus cash had taken place.

‘I did not go to London for Benitez,’ he said. ‘Yesterday I was in London with (managing director Andrea) Chiavelli and Bigon and for a simple reason: I have to prepare for the release of the film about Steve Jobs.

‘However, I told Bigon, ‘Go to City and take the chance to negotiate over Dzeko and see what they are willing to do for Cavani’.’

Uruguayan striker Cavani, 26, is one of the hottest properties in Europe having scored 36 goals in 41 appearances this season.

Chelsea had appeared to be winning the race but the lure of the unwanted Dzeko in return looks to have swung things back in City’s favour.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

MADRID - Real Madrid in pressure on Cavani. According to reports coming from the Spanish radio, the club Merengues are doing everything to bring to Spain the Matador. Ancelotti was also called the agent Cavani to tell him pointing at him for the attack blanco. To carry on negotiations in the market would be the dg Jose Angel Sanchez, who is handling the sale of Higuain (blitz of Juventus today in Madrid), and the arrival of Cavani and Lewandowski.

come on cheeky get the cash flashed now!!!! cavani would tear the premier league up and is the perfect age to spend big on him! we don't want it nturning into a summer like the last one and whats the point of having the cash if we don't use it!! plus Napoli want edin so just get the deal done!

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

They havent even managed to sign a deal with ancelotti yet and he is still dictating transfer targets etc without having assessed his current squad, if they were that intent on getting him they would just pay his buyout this is RM not barca, they have spent 80m and 65m on ronaldo and kaka respectively and quite frankly they have little to no chance of driving the price down on cavani.

Why do I have this nagging feeling he will be an unmitigated disaster ? Can't put my finger on it, but have a horrible gut feeling.
