Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

I would like Cavani, but if we miss out how far down peoples lists would you go befoere deciding to stick with Dzeko, personally I can't think of more than a couple of alternatives.

If we fail with Cavani i'd like us to go with one of Benteke or Lukaku, much prefer Lukaku though.
I'm not really sure why we would want Cavani when we have Aguero

everything should be geared up to make the most out of Aguero who is one of the best

When Utd signed RVP, Fergie dropped Rooney deeper and had Rooney feeding RVP directly or feeding the wingers who feed RVP. There was a method to get the most out of the team.

If we signed Cavani, how would Aguero fit in? You could play them both, but as we've seen the play between Aguero and Dzeko doesn't really work, whereas Aguero and Tevez in behind works well.

If we weren't in for Falcao, then maybe we're not in for Cavani either.

It's the old smokescreen post again. Maybe A de L is using City to auction Cavani and we're happy to work on our other targets under the radar?

Did you watch any of our games in the 2011/12 season?

Yes. Dzeko got dropped after a bright early start and the season ended with Aguero up front and Tevez in behind. We've had 3 or 4 forwards since the start of that season, and never really sorted out what the forward line is

Aguero and Tevez is the best combination, but Tevez lacks the speed to get in goal-scoring situations and relies on powerful shots to provide a threat. We need a Tevez-like foil for Aguero, not a Cavani or Falcao who would effectively replace Aguero. That's my opinion anyway.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

If Pellegrini is the manager he has already told you who the target will be if Cavani goes to RM, Saurez. IMO.

Cavani would in my opinion win us the league back.

I hope we get this lad...If Falcao goes to Monaco then surely this is a good thing too as it prevents another world class player going to one of our rivals.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

The man himself giving nothing away.....

I'm in Uruguay at the moment to recharge my batteries for next season and I am only thinking about Napoli for now," Cavani told Ovacion Digital.

"If I were to leave the club we'd have to sit down with the president to discuss my valuation.

"I'm feeling well at Napoli, though. I have grown here and have matured a lot.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

Don't see why Cavani couldn't play with Kun. Cavani's link-up play is quite good too. I also relish the prospect of having a relatively technically adept big man to add dimension to our attack.

As a football fan I am disappointed that Falcao will not be playing in the Premiership, however at least he is not playing for one of our immediate English rivals.

Are we to really believe what Soriano reportedly said:

Neymar and Falcao? [These reports are] false, they have never been on our agenda

Neymar I can accept. £50m for a player who was always going to Spain and for whom Barca had already paid an upfront fee. But Falcao is an extraordinary talent. I don't get why we would not look at him, if it's true that we are prepared to pay a similar fee for Cavani.

If it wasn't for Aurelio de Laurentiis recent comments about talks for a Dzeko swap deal with Cavani, I would think that we were barking up the wrong tree entirely.

Simple - from the very same reason he'll finish at Monaco instead at some of the biggest teams - third party ownership and complications it causes.

Barca buying Neymar - 3rd party issues there
