If this was to collapse, would keeping Dzeko be so bad?

He may not have the attributes of Cavani but i'm confident a better manager can get more out of him personally while utilising him more efficiently.

Add Isco,Navas and Fernandinho to our current squad and, while losing out on Cavani,we still become far stronger.
Yes. We've witnessed his horrible first touch, his inconsistency, his lying on the ground while others play on, his disrespectful shushing of fans cheering him, his lack of effort, and his tantrums.

He never got a good run of games and we have never played to his strengths.

Dzeko needs wingers, he is a target man, you can't expect a 6ft 4 striker to do Messi esq runs and have the touch of a Barcelona player.

Dzeko on his day is a world class finisher but we don't have the players to maximise his abilities. We all know deep down if gets sold he will go to a team which plays to his strengths and he probably be bagging 30 a season.

We need Navas or someone similar, and pace in midfield to counter attack.

Same as Mario, we never really played him in a preferred position and now look at his form for Milan. I reckon Dzeko will be the same if he was to leave.

Benitez has not signed after being assured on Cavani. He has been told that if 63m bid will arrive,Cavani will go,but money will be invested
Damn..it's really hard to see anyone, even Chelsea splashing so much money for him to be honest. This is going to take a long time sadly.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

Really hope Rafa asks for Dzeko as I'm sure he wouldn't want to let Mourinho get a player that will give him and Chelsea the best chance of success.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

What baffles me is the fact that everyone is flapping and no one really knows whats going on at all. This tancredo palmieri guy quotes an article in GDS saying chelsea want to broker a deal which is essentially like a british journo quoting the mirror and all of a sudden he's off to chelsea, just like he's been off to madrid etc etc.

They are making it up whats to broker, he has a buyout clause and ADL will stick to that or ask for players from either team i dont see whats to broker, you either put up or shut up and you dont ring up to formally register your interest and go to the papers about it either.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

Can't see them accepting 30 mill and Dzeko, otherwise we would be asking them to sell for 30 million. Has anyone on here championing a swap deal actually watched Dzeko play ? I wouldn't swap Ricky Lambert for him never mind Cavani.

Big problem with Dzeko though he doesn't dominate defenders considering his height and size and for that reason I am out!

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

I think in this case we just have to be like Chelsea and pay the money and get the deal done! He is a must for us and his style is perfect for the premier league!
