Re: Cavani Speculation/News

This article seems to think we've lost momentum in the race for him thanks to Real and Chelsea's interest: <a class="postlink" href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.calciomercato.it%2Fnews%2F217321%2FCalciomercato-ESCLUSIVO-le-ultime-su-Cavani-sempre-piu-lontano-da-Napoli.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... apoli.html</a>

Says the next 7-10 days could see his future decided.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

With it looking like Pelly will be announced next Monday as boss and I assume Cavani will be off to The Confederations Cup thingy in Brazil where Uruguay's first game is Mid June there's not much time to sort it out.

It really needs finalising either way in the next 14 days max.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

1) If Mourinho actually hand selected Cavani (rumored), he's going to Chelsea - Roman doesnt give a fuck about $.

2) If ADL doesn't get EXACTLY what he wants, Cavani is staying put - You're about to witness the most stubborn owner in likely all of sport

3) Someone is going to pay an assload of money, or you're going to be playing against him again next year in CL in Naples

I don't want him to leave Serie A, obviously... But if he does, don't let it be Chelsea.
Point being, one of you call up your owner and tell him to splash that cash

I know the perception is Napoli is a 'small team', but that needs to disappear quickly.. cuz its so far from the truth it hurts

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

I just watched the Edin Cavani and Dzeko goals videos. F*** me. Scary!

Our Edin and their Edin ......both wearing the sky blue....God's colour if ever there was one! It's like there was a kind of 'deja blue' somehow.

Their Edin takes a better penalty; of that there seems no doubt. But it was tough to pick out who scored the best from a really wide range of goals. Both clinical, with both feet and in the air; some great long shots, but most from inside the box, a result of great anticipation and yes, first touch! No amazing solo goals as such.

Which got me thinking. I know it's only goals on the video, and that doesn't tell the whole story of a player's game, but who's the more proven player? Who's playing against the best opposition? Who's playing against parked buses, week in and week out? Who's not getting regular play to build up confidence? Who was playing for a team that rarely suited his style and in front of fans that sometimes couldn't be f***ed to get behind the team? (Sorry but true at times)

Would their Edin really be that much of an improvement on our Edin next season? Based on what? I'm not convinced.
Their Edin is great, but anyway I don't think he's coming here and I'm not too concerned. I'm going to stick my neck out and say OUR Edin will be wearing OUR sky blue next season and playing under a manager that knows how to use him, surrounded by a fully motivated team and be a f***ing Goal scoring machine. Come on our Edin.......Dzeko!

Sorry if this should have been in the Dzeko thread.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

Cavani actually kinda sucks at penalties.

I dont know where this "awesome PK taker" came from... he looks good in the videos, ya... Because they left out the 4-5 he MISSED this season alone!!!!

It's basically one of his few flaws

Once you've has Mario as your penalty taker - no one else gives you the same level of confidence. Mario is on a different level when it comes to PK's.

Napoli are not in the Juve, Milan clubs category.

With regards to your other points I feel Cavani will stay at Napoli unless Chelsea really really want him. With Aguero signing a contract extension I feel City will be looking to maximise the return from Aguero rather than buying a player who could eclipse him.

I've read what some have said about Cavani playing down the middle with Aguero wide, but I don't like the idea of that

I wish you'd retire from the forum Marvin, your whole energy is fucking droneeeeeeeeeee

Aguero even having the season he's had would be sold at a profit (nothing to maximise there)

Cavani has the higher intensity and work rate of the two and when he signs would play as such

.......Isco...........silva............

...............Cavani..................

...........................aguero......

Aguero will be 5x the player with the above, continuing with tevez or dzeko will continue to restrain him, did you even watch the guy at madrid??????? The negativity that oozes from you is astounding chief, fix the fuck up!!!!!
