Chelsea look to Mario Gomez as Napoli demand full €63m buyout for Edinson Cavani

Imagine being a Chelsea fan and reading that

From Cavani to Gomez

I am very confident about our current strikers and their ability to deliver. As a Mancini fan even I could see that our possession football had become much more deliberate last season allowing defenders time to regroup and park behind the ball.

Speedier movement of the ball in the new season will avoid this and the option of pace out wide gives an another option to the attack. Our strikers don't need replacing unless you are adding from the very top of the world pile. If that's not Ronaldo, I don't see much of an improvement on Aguero in world football.

Seen the arguments re Edin.

Scored some very important goals for us however if anyone thinks he is as good as Cavani doesn't know football. The amount of times last year that I was sat in the stands and heard "fucking run Edin" "Put some effort in Edin"...

Cavani is a much better player however if Edin stays he will still retain my support

Could be a whole dif ballgame with two wingers firing crosses in...
Who knows he could score a shitload :)

If u seriously think spending 64 mill is prudent some shit u read boggles the mind. Hes worth at the max 30 and even then i would hesitate. when u have Kun,dzeko and now Jesus spreading the pitch watch the amount of fukin goals where going to score i rather take that 64 and spend it on shit we actually need like isco, and another defender.

Morning pal-Not disagreeing at all fella but Edin really isn't a tap on Cavani but that's just my opinion. Is it worth a 50 plus million punt though....

Got to agree with StHB on this one. Cavani is light years ahead of Dzeko as an all rounder. Quicker, better technique, more industrious. The two games we had against Napoli highlighted the difference between the two players, especially the one out there. Dzeko with his back to goal had the touch of a horse, and City only presented any kind of a threat after Balo replaced him.
