From what I have gathered over the past few weeks the only player Napoli will accept in a cash + player deal is Dzeko.

De Laurentiis anounced he sent someone to sort a deal with us for Dzeko + cash, but we haven't seen him say the same for anyone at Chelsea.

I can see where you are coming from. But him saying "pay the entire clause or fuck off" is not a rule for everybody with us as the exception. It just isnt

Maybe De Laurentiis sees Dzeko as Cavani's replacement though, thats what the Italian media say anyway.

Plus, why would he announce he sent someone to do a deal with us for Edin + cash?

I have a feeling if Chelsea pay the full fee Napoli will come after Dzeko as his replacement.
To generate an auction. All calculated and not to be taken at face value

Mourinho on Torres:"(...)deserves respect(...)respect starts by speaking with him face-to-face and deciding what is the best for all of us"

That's Torres gone then!

If he comes he comes, if he doesn't he doesn't...and City will move on without him. After all those years of supporting City with £3.5 million "rough diamonds", and journeymen freebies, it's just not worth the getting worked up over this transfer. As sure as the sun sets each night, journalists and newspapers will speculate and make things up to get their papers sold, and I for one learnt a long time ago not to bother reading them for transfer speculation. Lets trust that the people in charge of our club are highly experienced businessmen, who are used to brokering multi billion pound deals to buy companies, dealing along the way with high powered executives and even National Goverments, so some jumped up Italian movie maker with a far bigger opinion of his business prowess than the reality will not phase them, they will know ow to handle him and massage his ego enough to get the right result if they feel Cavani is worth it.

Good post, but for me just pay the money and get Cavani.

As expected, Mourinho isn't about to stake his reputation on a front line of Torres, Lukaku and Ba. Would not give a flying F if they signed Rooney though. As long as the Glazers pocket the cash and don't properly replace him at least.

It's us and Chelsea from now on (please god), we don't want them strengthening.

Thats not what is being reported on SSn

<a class="postlink" href="http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8769994/Jose-Mourinho-wants-to-get-the-best-out-of-Fernando-Torres" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... ndo-Torres</a>

Saying that if Torres wants to stay then he can and will try to get the best out of him.
Saying he wants one or two signings (obviously that could still include Cavani - not Mouhrihnos words but mine)

To the people who say stop flapping, it's not the end of world if we don't get Cavani. Simple question: if you went it battle tomorrow who would you want stood next to you Cavani or Dzeko?

Yep, got this off the Sun:

Mourinho insisted: “Fernando is more than happy to stay and work hard — and I think he deserves that respect from me.

“That respect starts by speaking with him face to face and deciding what is the best for all of us.

“If the best for all of us is for Fernando to stay, let’s help him and try to get the best out of him.”

Said this about Rooney:

And returning Chelsea boss Mourinho opened the door for a possible move to Stamford Bridge by admitting: “I like him. He is at a fantastic age.

“He has maturity, big experience and is still young. It’s up to him and what he wants, what makes him happy.”

Rooney, 27, is due to have talks with new Old Trafford boss David Moyes over his future following Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

But it is understood he is interested in what Chelsea have to say.

Mourinho added: “He’s a little bit like me. He doesn’t need one more pound in his contract and one more cup won’t make a difference. Be happy.

“Where is he happy? Where will he find more happiness to have ambition and drive him?”
