I'd be seriously underwhelmed if we settled for Gomez. That might sound a little spoilt but for me he wouldn't offer us anything more than we have already got.
Same here. I don't think Gomez is needed at all.

Agreed. We need a forward who has a bit of everything, especially if we are going to be playing a fluid formation. I admit Gomez is deadly in the 18 yard box but we need much more than that. Ibra would be ideal if we miss out on Cavani

Can anyone recall deadline day when we won the lottery. We put a bid in for Gomez iirc. Mad how life has an habit if circling.

If you ask me I think he's a great option for any team but doesnt justify his inclusion as he's very much a poacher. I think he's a sensible alternative, much more than Diego Costa. Still a climbdown from Cavani.

I'm not really into any of the chatter upto yet. More twists, turns and loop the loops yet to come.

If Gomez is now on the menu wtf is wrong with going for Higuain. For me he's the next best option, plus we already know he can play with Kun. Another no brainer passing us by

Higuain, David Villa,Samuel Eto'o and a certain Edin Dzeko was on the list.

So when you say we know they can play together - do they play well as a partnership for argentina?

Gomez could be a replacement for Tevez if we sell him. So we would have Aguero, Dzeko, Gomez +1 more striker.

So we are out of the race because of of MEN article??

Gomez???

We lose Tevez who is our most die hard striker and we replace him with one the laziest forwards in Europe?

Gomez?? Why? Dzeko is twice the player.

We cant have two big center forwards in Edin and Gomez, Txiki wants us to adapt on all this tippy tappy football and make it more expansive and we end up having two of the most direct center forwards in world football.

Honestly, sometimes I just think "I wish we had a forward that stayed in the box". I understand how we want everyone to work as a team, but it pisses me off when there's no striker in the box because he's stood on the wing with the ball. Whilst Gomez doesn't have the same work ethic as others, there's no arguing with his goal scoring record, and we made so many chances last year.

I agree mate, to be honest in somew ways I would take Gomez over Dzeko as I feel he is by far a better poacher, but surely with Tevez going we would have to sell Edin vs well???

I don't see two center forwards like Edin and Gomez in our team.

I agree, it wouldn't do us any harm to have a player who just is alert and on the shoulder of the defender ready to pounce. Filipo Inzaghi esque (without so many offsides preferably). Aguero likes to drop in and pick up the ball and we would benefit from a player who likes to just run off the shoulder of the defender. Gomez isn't that player though./
