Cavani Speculation/News (part 5)

With the extra tv money available, plus the savings on balo's wages along with Tévez, santa cruz, kolo and bridge I can't understand why we aren't going in full steam for cavani...if the French clubs can do it with inferior tv money and without the global appeal that the PL has I'm sure we can do it and not be too worried about FFP...I'm happy with the two lads we've brought in so far and at the end of the day none of us know for sure who we are in for but I thought after last years last minute bargain bin purchases we would be right in there this time fighting for the worlds best...Perez at Madrid hit the nail on the head the other week for me, saying that the high cost and wages of world stars are worth paying because of the exposure they bring to the club, and the fact that other top players see them and want a piece of the action

Bale would be fantastic, however Spurs would try and take us to the cleaners. Make the Cavani bid look like a good deal.

So what are the chances of PSG being banned from europe if they do spunk money on Cavani?

Zero. And zero.

Zero chance that UEFA would try to ban them. And if they did (which they won't) zero that it would hold up in the European Court of Justice.

The guy who wrote this article knows collectively more about this issue than everyone who will ever post here:

I've always said like many others that the FFP crap will never work. Everyone with half a brain knows its designed to keep the historically rich clubs at the top. Football is a business just like any other and FIFA cannot tell any owners of a business that they can't invest more than the business earns, its not their decision its down to British and European law and unless an owner is creating a monopoly they can't do anything to stop it

City have lost interest in Cavani and won't be black mailed, by any club into paying inflated fees anymore. It's common knowledge around the club, that Cheeky and John ( Mcbeath ) have been working on the finances, of a major coup concerning one player. Nobody but the powers that be, know who this player is. What we do know, it's not Rooney Cavani or Lewandowski

One member of the staff was given a major hint, when he was told the players clubs home kit is White.

Ha! So Ronaldo it is. Or Bale. Or, er, Ashley Williams.

This €50 m bid by PSG quoted correctly on Sky at £43m, is, iirc, the same as Chelsea's isn't it?

Perhaps Cavani finds the idea of working with both Blanc and Lavezzi much more appealing than working with Mourinho. Which you would, wouldn't you, let's be honest.

Just a thought...but maybe we are not throwing money at Cavani because we have bigger fish to fry ;-)

IF the Barca boys are using the same playbook from when they were at Barca they need one big big name this summer. I don't even think Cavani qualifies. They need a name that can be marketed as one of the world's best. They lost out on Beckham but got their man in Ronaldinho last time.

If we are going to really splash the cash (spend 50 + on a single player) I think it will be that kind of player. Only two out there as far as I am concerned (they both play in white).

ADL said noone had enquired about Cavani except us...those 'ghost' bids were just media bollocks
