Anyone remember this goal by Cavani against Barca? Disallowed for no apparent reason except Pique being a little girl... shame.

That's because city don't have anyone fast enough to play the counter. How many times this season have you seen barry make an interception or a tackle, pass the ball forward to aguero only to see aguero all alone in a sea of defenders with nobody to pass to? Cavani and Aguero working together would wreak havoc on defenses

I bet athletico are pleased. The price for falcao has just gone through the roof

If true, pretty much *guarantees* we won't be getting Falcao imho. Not that I thought we would get him in the first place. The price is going to be ridiculous.

He will go to a club prepared to pay stupid money, and that is not us. We are too "sensible" these days. With PSG out of the frame, Chelsea have to be far the most likely.

He'd have had a ball today.

Crying out for a clinician.

Probably would have scored 2 or 3 with Aguero's chances today. Cavani isn't perfect and misses chances but he would have smashed several of them in.

Cavani would be our RVP next seasons. Dzeko will be moved on.

Make it so.

Cavani is the only one I feel almost certain will happen and looks dead set to come here and early on as well.

It also looks like City have worked very hard on the Cavani deal for a while (Personal terms agreed stories leaked, then stories about City and Napoli to agree on a fee only)... I think the MEN has also reported that City can expect their first signing shortly after the season end mid May, which is all pointing to City officials probably giving the odd few clues that they re confident something will come good soon !

Cavani would have put 3 goals past West Ham today the number of counters we had and lack of clinical finishes. Bring on El Matador!

Agree totally...out of Cavani & Falcao it is more likely that Cavani will be ours this summer, I hope that the deal has been done in principal and will be announced within the first week of the window opening.

It seems that Falcao's transfer has also been agreed in principle as well, reports in Spain suggest that Atletico have lined up Udinese striker Luis Muriel for £28m euro's, and that falcao & his agent are remaining tight-lipped on his suitor.

When the club's lines up a new striker is probably the best clue their current strikers is almost set to leave... anyone know if Napoli have made progress on getting a stirker to fill the Cavani shaped hole?... would be great if Yes, because I still have not heard much on the Real end trying to chase Cavani....

Napoli are reported to be tracking seville striker Negredo, I did read another report stating that Napoli are lining up a move for another striker as well

Napoli are supposedly going pretty big on Leandro Damiao, much to spurs' disappointment.

They enquired about jovetic, but we're fucked off, as fiorentina won't sell to a rival

The Falcao situation would suggest - and this is opinion only - that his suitor is far from guaranteed CL football next season.

i.e. Chelsea (Utd qualified, City 1 win away, Barca, Real, PSG & Bayern all shoo-in's)

-- Sat Apr 27, 2013 7:31 pm --

The Falcao situation would suggest - and this is opinion only - that his suitor is far from guaranteed CL football next season.

Transfer muppetry at its finest by the Star. :D
