"Cedric" Boyata

Boyata is a quality player. His only problem is that VK is going to be #1 on the right if Nasty is fit, but is an excellent second option if Nasty is injured and VK slides across.

He played as well, if not better than, ANY other option at CB after VK and Nasty. New 5 year contract, small numbers with big bonus opportunities. Sorted!

I don't think the second goal was his fault. He was outnumbered 2 against 1. Where was Zaba?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the scheme here, it just looked funny at the time that he was alone against 2 Bayern players.

He was 2 vs 1 because Bayern's centre back decided to power into the box after playing the ball out wide and wasn't tracked, Zabba had the left winger but Fernandinho just let Boateng run past him.

Considering he has been frozen out of the team for 2 years since his red card at arsenal , I thought he did well tonight. Calm on the ball with good distribution , he can be a major part of the city side for many years if he is given the time to improve .

Boyata was steady tonight , his only mistake was their 2nd goal , but maybe tiredness came into it , But you could probably pick a player as crap as Phil "duncan edwards"Jones next to a player as good as big vinny and still keep a clean sheet.
No wonder barca fancy vinny he must be the best centre back in europe , maybe if they give us £50m and messi , we could consider a deal.

Boyata held his own very well tonight against the very best there is and he deserves a lot of credit for it. May just of played himself into a squad place this season. On the other hand, i suspect he would of fell apart without the incredible Kompany at his side tonight. What a player he is.

Always wondered if this lad still had it in him. Yes, Kompany was immense but I think that Dedryck played his part. This lad had Drogba in his pocket when we played Chelsea a few years ago and until the dismissal against Arsenal he looked to be on his way to a successful career with us. This could be his second change. What have we got to loose by giving him another chance? Could save us a lot of money. He looked a lot more solid that Garcia.

Give Dedryk a chance could be worth it.

To be honest, I think Vinnie just makes whoever he plays with look pretty good. He still looks unbelievably nervous when people are running at him and he doesn't dominate when the ball is put into the box. I'd love him to make it, but I don't think he will
