Ricky Gervais stands out for me. I could see a mile off he was a script writer and not a comedian.
He still is a script writer now and anyone saying more is either him or some **** he hired to say he is a genuine comedian.

He got called out at some large outdoor live aid thing. I loved it because what happened was so achingly obvious...he failed so badly.

I think many others did also ofc but for some reason he never got properly called out on it.

As for him being a "champagne socialist" - a puerile catch-all insult that appears to be applied by those on the right to anyone who is remotely successful and holds left-wing views - didn't Ricky Tomlinson famously take a carry-out of four cans of mild to an awards ceremony because he doesn't like the 'champagne & schmoozing' that go with these awards ceremonies?

Ricky Tomlinson is anything but a "champagne" socialist. He regularly gives his time speaking to labour and trade union audiences. He voluntarily gives up his time to work at food banks. He has donated substantial amounts of money to good causes, including a significant donation to Alder Hey Children's Hospital to assist in the building of a wing where parents could stay overnight with their sick kids.

I've always believed in the power of unions, but Tomlinson was a ****. I used to work with a bloke who met him on a picket line in Manchester. Most of the people on the site were self-employed and non-union members. Tomlinson was with a gang of flying pickets from Liverpool who thought everyone should be supporting an unofficial strike in Liverpool. Tomlinson told my mate he knew where he lived and if he crossed the picket line(which wasn't union-backed) him and his mates would be paying my mate a visit at night. He took a hammer out of his van and big brave Ricky hid behind his mates.
The man is a bully and a coward.
