Celtic game - strict security measures announced (page 34)

Speaks volumes for the make-up of our support that Celtic think they can come in our end and take the piss in the numbers they did.
Can we put this numbers nonsense to bed. At most they had 1500 - 2,000 dotted around the stadium in the home ends and most although they cheered the goal behaved themselves. I was in the CB level 2 in my usual seat next to their so called executive fans. Apart from one who kept jumping up and down every time they crossed half way the rest were fine.

The ones near me got a proper talking to and a lot of aggro when they celebrated their goal. Kept quiet for the rest of the game.

I was in the family stand and there was an ugly scene after they scored.
Celtic fan celebrated and when pulled up about it got really gobby until stewards threw him out.
Took what seemed like ages for him to go and you could see that there was a lot of scared young Blues.
Apart from that horrible incident the rest were fine, although we are talking about a dozen or so who were sensible enough to behave and get on well with all around them.

Kicked off in 105 and people were coming over from 106-107 to have a go. A few Celtic fans left, one got chucked out. Stewards didn't have a clue or didn't care, they were nowhere to be seen.

They were goading City fans when they scored and when our goal was disallowed. What did they expect to happen?
Spoke to the steward in 105. He said there was nothing he could do. The 40 or 50 Celtic fans in there were 'friends of UEFA' and presumably are therefore entitled to behave like arseholes.

I'm in 104, close to 105, and the 'friends of UEFA' for the Gladbach game happened to be German and for Barca, Spanish. It's an absolute farce and last night was very unpleasant. Just glad I didn't take the kids. Two or three Celtic fans were extremely aggressive in their posturing. Standing up, staring menacingly at anyone they fancied singling out, making cutting throat gestures etc. I'd like to see what (if any) checks there are on what these so called 'friends of UEFA' are doing with their allocation because they're clearly selling the tickets on for every game.

For "friends of UEFA", read sponsor's tickets. I usually sit in 315, but was in 104 for last night and the Gladbach game. Like you say, they were away fans sat in those seats for both games.

The seats in 104 are all for the UEFA sponsors lounge, think they call it the "Champions Lounge" or something like that. So it's the ticket allocations for Champions League sponsors, such as adidas, Heineken, Nissan etc, who all have their own swanky function room with food/beer laid on for them. Ultimately, it's freeloaders who know people who work for sponsors, who get free tickets and take advantage of the free beer. The Celtic fans in that area were pretty disgusting last night, my mate spoke to a steward at half time who said that as they were "friends of UEFA", they couldn't be thrown out. So as long as you've got a VIP lanyard, you can do what you want. If you're one of the plebs, any indiscretion and you are out.

There were Celtic fans walking around the concourse in East Stand level 1, wearing scarves and singing etc. Obviously getting stick from the City fans but the stewards just stood there and quite frankly looked scared. Hopefully the club will learn lessons and thankfully there didn't seem to be any major incidents last night.

I dont know how big your family stand is but there were at least a dozen, probably more, in the part where I was. I had a good time and part of that was the city fans around me who were quite knowledgeable about football - apart from not realising Roberts was one of your own - and overall very impartial when discussing the game

What I will say about them though is we are not as bad as Rangers myth.
Some of their behaviour pre and after match was disgusting.
For some reason the tram service bore a lot of terrible behaviour.
Saw countless on trams or while waiting on one.
Bigotry was rife last night as well.
IRA chants and songs of the like from pubs and streets.
Their end didn't cover themselves in glory as well last night, particular a spell in the second half.
Hate that type of nonsense that the old fI'm bring with them.

Everybody knows Roberts is one of our own.
Apart from that I agree with you.
All it needs though is one clown to spoil it for others.
I was in 239 by the way.
