But you then see what disrespect can lead to. And people wonder why this gets passed down from generation to generation in Scotland.

I stay in 1 of the most pro protestant villages in central Scotland. It's difficult, but l I try to teach my boys that there's many views and beliefs, many races and religions, some you won't understand, but to try and be respectful for the views of others as far as possible.

Now, that might make me a bit of a soft ****, but my job is to try and raise well rounded little humans.
Nice to be nice mate.
Larkhall by any chance.

It depends what the age of consent is. In some states it is 18.

And Andrew is almost 60. On what level is it fine for a man, whatever his background, to have sex with someone 50 years his junior?

It is indefensible.
Not that I'd ever defend Andrew but im not sure how you've spun 20ish years in to 50?

It's admirable that you try and do that, and I agree with the sentiment. Maybe I came across as being in favour of them expressing their beliefs because of all this sectarian shite that goes on over there, but that wasn't my intention

I know the motivation behind the banner is largely different to how I'm interpreting it, but dissenting voices have been so rare to see these last 10 days that it actually felt good to see a little protest making an impression. I think that's as valuable as being respectful of others' views

To completely change the conversation and back up what I posted in debate with Magicpole a few weeks ago, here we go. Completely flies in the face of the "these diddy clubs should take our green/blue pound" arrogance. Kilmarnock been in similar boat to St Mirren, cutting old firm away tickets which has lead to an increased home gate. Great to see, well done St Mirren.

I’d like imagine a lot of families don’t want to bring their kids along to old firm games due to the amount of whoppers at those grounds ( some of which can be found on this thread incidentally).
I don’t bring my own son to Rovers v Bohs here in Dublin due to the bile at the game, gets way past acceptable.

Correct, know loads of folk who wouldn't bring their kids to games against Celtic or Rangers, some of whom just give it a miss altogether never mind just not bringing the kids. Making the games more family friendly and a less toxic environment is the right thing to do and many have started to return in support of their local club, now St Mirren following suit - should be applauded for putting the short term quick buck mentality to the side and thinking of the longer term.

I sort of agree with your sentiment, and I know I'm a bit hypocritical, but I just think in terms of human decency theres a time and a place, and in the lead up to a funeral or during a minutes silence / applause isn't 1 of them.

Cracking service station.
I was brought up in Laurieston a village outside Falkirk.
Like most of the villages in the area mostly protestant.
Great place to be brought up.

Nice 1. Harthill gets a bad rep, but it's a totally fine place to raise kids.

When I was young there were very few Catholic families in the village. One stayed near me, and when the Orange Parades went by they stood at their door and watched it go by. No animosity on either side, just acknowledgement and respect.

It's a lot more mixed now of course.

Great to see, except it should say, ”fewer tickets” not “less tickets”.
I also have a special dislike for St. Mirren’s Tony Fitzpatrick. Spent fucking months hunting down his Panini sticker in ‘78 but to no avail. One of 18 stickers still missing from the book.
