Celtic have looked good at the back. Team with Mjalby was very decent. Was that ONeills team? Very big strong players.

Celtic are very poor at right back. No matter what you say that Johnstone (worst right back at WC) is a massive downgrade on Juranovic(one of the best at WC) Ralston is a midtable Prem player at best

Taylor is decent but nothing special. Bernabie is an expensive flop and should be moved on

Centrally CCV is one of the best in the league but then you only have Starfelt and then a huge downgrade to the Japanese lad that looked dreadful anytime I’ve seen him

Then behind them you have a calamity of a Keeper in Joe Hart who always has a mistake in him.

Rodgers knows if you start the season with this defence then you’re not winning the league. That’s why the money will be spent strengthening this area

It’s no coincidence that Celtic only dropped points when CCV was out. He absolutely held that defence together.

New Keeper, Right back and a central defender similar level to CCV then you’ll be difficult to beat domestically

Johnstone has made JJ departure fine. He has been great for us. We have always had good defenders but not a strong unit, at Oniels time our goalies weren’t great, we always have weak links.

And also this lad. Again, looks like a player. Like Rocki early 20’s and just what we need. Stays a few seasons and then we make a few quid.

Also talk of Beek from the rags, a non starter for me as any player at his level is never coming to a scotland. Same deal with the Swiss lad, no chance on the face of it with his options either. We need to find these guys before they establish themselves, like we did with Hatate, O’Rielly etc.

Nonsense on FF about Harry Souttar coming to Rangers. Got me thinking he’d be a fantastic signing for Celtic.

The Beek thing might not be too outrageous. He’s not getting game time there and Celtic are known to pay decent loan fees and will take up at least some of his wage. Chance for the lad to put himself in shop window and get career back on track. I don’t think it will happen just don’t see it as totally out the question
