Surely the Daily Ranger and Scottish Hun wouldn't big up a Celtic signing though is more my point?!

Im not sure a pre season testimonial game against is designed to have you shaking in terror my friend.

I took 2 main take aways from last night's game. Tonali is a very good player and if he can get over leaving Milan him and Guimaraes should be a top pairing.

I need to agree with No 8 here, Raskin is levels above the others in midfield, he continues like this we won't have him next year. Easily our most influential player just now.

I took 2 main take aways from last night's game. Tonali is a very good player and if he can get over leaving Milan him and Guimaraes should be a top pairing.

I was travelling home last night from Manchester Airport and missed the game. Ironically got caught in the football traffic at Top Golf / Rutherglen stretch of the motorway much to the wife’s amusement!

Had a laugh at the Celtic fan on RC phone in. Ehhh I’ll be watching The Rangers tonight. Of course you will. We never doubted it for a minute. They consume your very existence! I can’t think of anything worse than watching that other team playing never mind watching a friendly.

As for Raskin. He’s going to be a fantastic player. Obviously I’m not comparing them talent wise but if you watch him he looks as if he basis his style of play on a certain Belgium player. Loves a tackle and doesn’t mind mixing it but also has very good eye for a pass. Comfortable on the ball and doesn’t mind taking it when tightly marked. He’s already said he’s wanting to move to a higher standard of league and who can blame him. Unfortunately he has named Chelsea as his preferred choice but maybe that certain Belgium player can point him towards another team in the EPL where he can follow in his footsteps. I rate him that highly

Game yesterday was a combination of the Good The Bad and the Ugly

Mid to front Good and excellent goals.

The bad, losing possession coming out of defence, poor choices and a inaccurate passing.

The Ugly, fucking woeful defending. Mistakes caused all of their goals.

This is a bugbear of mine and has been for decades. A defence not fit for purpose. Our only two defenders I rate weren’t playing. The rest are back up at best.

So, overall after I stopped raging at the defence. Relieved in a way that it happened as it shows Rogers that he needs a LB a RB a CB and a goalie to compete with Hart. If he didn’t notice he needs recruits he and us are in for even more CL maulings. No matter how well we play and if we actually score, it will be undone by teams being gifted goals. A lot of goals.

Never in my entire life have I heard anyone say, or read in print, Celtic are really strong at the back. This needs to change. We have money, spend it there or we are doomed. Might have enough for our league, but good teams will destroy us.

Celtic have looked good at the back. Team with Mjalby was very decent. Was that ONeills team? Very big strong players.

Celtic are very poor at right back. No matter what you say that Johnstone (worst right back at WC) is a massive downgrade on Juranovic(one of the best at WC) Ralston is a midtable Prem player at best

Taylor is decent but nothing special. Bernabie is an expensive flop and should be moved on

Centrally CCV is one of the best in the league but then you only have Starfelt and then a huge downgrade to the Japanese lad that looked dreadful anytime I’ve seen him

Then behind them you have a calamity of a Keeper in Joe Hart who always has a mistake in him.

Rodgers knows if you start the season with this defence then you’re not winning the league. That’s why the money will be spent strengthening this area

It’s no coincidence that Celtic only dropped points when CCV was out. He absolutely held that defence together.

New Keeper, Right back and a central defender similar level to CCV then you’ll be difficult to beat domestically
