Celtic Thread | 2024/25

Big night tonight. Looking forward to it and hopeful we can get a least a point, but fully aware it could get messy. I’m confident we will turn up. That’s all we can ask for and if that’s not enough, that’s just the way it goes.

4.1 us.

I read it all now. Bollocks. Second in the Bundesliga ffs. Grow up and acknowledge that was a brilliant performance.
Now 4th after a humiliating 5-1 home defeat.

Not won a game since they lost to Dortmund

Lost every champions league game.

Three teams have zero points and all three were drawn to play Celtic

Must be all luck

Ah well, never mind

You played a Nice youth team and continued yesterday with a performance of actual turgid dross. Look who they played in the CL.

I know it’s all you have. Trying to take solace in fuck all. Trying to delegitimise our progress to make things better.

I know the motivation everything you held dear is gone.

1. Biggest club? Check.

2. Richest club? Check.

3. Most successful club? Check.

And the realisation that we are just beginning a period of even greater domination, is obviously upon you, it makes grasping at straws your only real fallback.

After Thursday, when you beat a team of utter shit, I was half expecting the Rangers are coming.

looking forward to the 15th, are you?

We are and always have been the biggest club

Are you the most successful? I’m not sure you are.

Richest at the moment but that could all change

My point in posting the above was just proving my point regarding the RB Leipzig game. I said they were bang average and a shadow of the team Rangers faced in the Europa Semi. I was 100% spot on.

Celtic got a Europa league (at best) draw in the Champions league. They have had a great result drawing away to a very decent Atalanta but you seem to miss the times I give praise where it’s deserved. They had the Dortmund humiliation but I’m not sure you get the Atalanta result without the Dortmund result.

Not sure where you can really disagree with any of that. Nothing wrong with getting a great draw. You can only beat who is in front of you

As for the Nice result. A 4-1 away result against any opposition is not to be sneezed at. Such a poor Nice team that were undefeated in their last 34 home games and you talk about not giving credit where it’s due hahahaha ffs irony at its best

Oh and as far as the 15th goes. Nope not looking forward to it but I never look forward to OF games. I hate them! Win , lose or draw I never enjoy them

Just another CL away, get a result and we qualify. Not in the slightest nervous, or anxious, or worried. Not me. No chance.

I’m sure Celtic will be able to get a result against Zagreb reserves.

A small injury to Maeda and Kyogo. Nothing too serious but enough to keep them out for a month.

A point will do. Win against next game and we are there with ease. Beat Villa and its top 8, but that’s a big if. Be over the moon just to be through.

We were poor for most of the game, poor as not being as good since Brugge. Passes are just a bit off too often, then they play safe, vicious circle. Rangers were much improved, but that wasn’t us on it. We need this to give ourselves a boot up the arse. Oh and Engels was again, fucking rank. I think there’s a player there, but he’s taking his time. Set up Khun, great, but the rest of his play was dire. 1 down 2 to go.

Never mind how poor you were. Wee Willies pals saw you home.

No doubt we will get Wee Willie will tell us it’s an honest mistake and they will learn from it

Madden was left 'amazed' by VAR Alan Muir's decision not to recommend a penalty and reckons Rangers were denied a clear spot kick.

He said: "This is 100 per-cent a penalty kick.

"It doesn’t matter when the holding started, when it ended or what direction the players are moving.

"This is clear evidence of holding within the penalty area and I’m amazed this hasn’t been identified by VAR.

"Referee team had been excellent until that point. Difficult live, but that’s why VAR is there."

Speaking on Record Sport’s Hotline Live, ex-grade one whistler Des Roache insisted VAR Alan Muir should have spotted Liam Scales hauling down Vaclav Cerny inside the penalty box. And Roache believes Muir broke with protocol by failing to tell ref John Beaton to take a look at the flashpoint for himself on the pitch side monitor. Roache said: “The laws of the game state that, if you are pulling a player outside the penalty area and it continues inside the penalty area it’s a penalty kick.

—————

It’s a factual decision. It was clear for all to see and no argument for the VAR officials. It’s cheating by Celtic minded officials appointed by the Celtic minded head of refereeing.

It’s simple either Collum goes or the VAR team go but preferably both
