Celtic v City post match

Fantastic game of football really pleased with celtic tonight you have also got to give city credit for coming back 3 times and finishing the stronger team. The game was played in a great spirit safe journey home to the city fans who also played there part in a fantastic occasion good luck for the rest of the season although I don't think you will need it

Great post fella.

disagree there. although our defending was a lot poorer than it has been in recent weeks, celtic are no mugs and have some very good players. at home they are very very strong and with a packed parkhead behind them it always makes for an intimidating atmosphere. yes we should have been looking to get a win, but a draw is far from the end of the world

Mate, it's a piece of grass. End of story. That is the attitude that the All Blacks take into games. No excuse for conceding 3 to a championship level team.

Very competitive game. Celtic didn't give us a second on the ball, which is why everything was so disjointed early on, but as the game wore on it was clear City looked like the only team to win it...and we should have done with Gundogan's open shot from the edge of the box.

The statistics say City should have won...possession, shots, etc...but games aren't played on paper. City play three very difficult games on the run in the CL now, with the last game at home against Celtic, it may be a very exciting night when they come to town.

Not sure why Pep didn't play a full strength team (Sagna and Stones, with Kolarov at LB), but it cost us. Surprised Sane didn't come on, rather than pushing Silva out left (Stones/Clichy, Fernando/Gundogan, Sane/Nolito). For me, Gundogan either doesn't have pace, isn't fit, or just ran out of gas early. He also could (should?) have had two goals. Maybe fatigue was a factor, although keeper was lucky to get anything on the deflection.

Considering that was supposed to be the easiest (Pot 4) away game of the group stages, it doesn't bode well for grabbing too many points away, especially considering how well BMG played against Barca. Still need at least two wins to go through, and one of those might have to be the last home game against Celtic. Here's hoping we don't have to rely on that!!!

sergio hardly touch the ball.
missing KDB already.
Just got back.
Decent trip - even with the ball ache ticketing.
Said at the game - if that's the way we're going to play minus KDB we'd better keep him fit when he comes back.
Surprised at Stones being on the bench - wonder if there's an underlying issue preventing 3 games in a week.
Credit to Celtic they gave us a go - but in all honesty our defending was pants for the first 50 minutes.
Credit to both sets of supporters too - cracking atmosphere with no visible signs of trouble. Need to look at the safety of the away section though - in particular the toilets where a young kid was nearly crushed.
Final point - what was with the over policing. Saw some City fans walking down, then suddenly surrounded by police and mounted police. Then outside after felt like we each had a personal officer!

Twas a decent game - but City let us down defensively.
Not only was the game played in a great spirit - enjoyed the atmosphere too.
First trip to Parkhead - really enjoyed it (apart from the drive back)
