This used to be a great fixture. Now... well the atmosphere is still there but it's like watching two League One sides given a Sky Sports slot.

In fact in the late 80s early 90s, before Sky pumped in millions, you could argue that Scottish football was of a better standard than England. The money was never pumped into Scottish football like England.

I wouldn't argue with you about the 80's and early 90's. I lived up there and sportscene then had better players than match of the day managed, however its now pretty dire (pub football was just a joke by the way - no need to get so touchy), and anybody that watches the other games than 'old firm' games knows that. The old firm games are only spiced by the religous shit between the fans, the games may offer excitement, but they don't offer much else.

I've no idea who you support, could be City, could be united, could be aberdeen, could be coventry, but you needn't come on here with the "billions" jibes, plenty of other clubs have spent money in the PL before we did.

Scottish football is currently at the lowest point in its history, and the two biggest clubs in Scotland are the root cause of that, they both took all the money off the other clubs, and now don't have a pot to piss in themselves. 20 years ago Scotland provided a good number of the best players in the english top division, now ? There's a sprinkling of avreage players, its not hard to figure out why.

Well supporting the Sky Blues is very hard at times but that is another story

The billions was not meant as a jibe but if you took it that way I think that says more about you than me.

I was not getting touchy either as I am not from Scotland, but to say a countries league is a pub league just because there is grossly overpaid superstars on the pitch is not right. I will stick up for lower leagues as I watch one every week and I would get as much enjoyment (in fact more) watching in as I did watching Epl matches.

All I am trying to say is just because it is a lower league does not make it pub football.
