Stuff like that helps inform education policy and also identifying areas of deprivation etc, with factors such as educational attainment a key indicator
 
I had seen the letter the other day, so I nipped down stairs to ask the wife about it after just reading this thread, she said "'oh yeah I did see something that mentioned being against the law on the front probably threw it away" as she does everything.... whilst she watching "loose" women the headline is Wayne bridges little sort talking about whether a mortgage is a bigger commitment than marriage, so at this point I think fuck it I'm going to try a go for some slap and tickle here, I got told too fuck off back to my lair..... now I'm back in my lair panicking about this 1000 fine thinking about Frankie Bridge and how I need to get the fuck off furlough ASAP. What a wonderful life it is.....

Educational qualifications have been on every census since 1961

Why would you actively chase something like this haha ?

I have owned a properties for the last 15 years and not completed one census.

If the government want it completing they will need to write to me and say so.

As if most people have time to go chasing nonsense like this.

The census is actually important data the country needs. I think they do write to you, hence the letters people are talking about.
 
Why do they actually need to do it these days?

I can understand in the old days when things were paper based and data was much more difficult to collate. But now they could just get most of the answers they need from all the databases they have (Council Tax, DVLA, NHS records, police records etc) without asking.

Would take a while to setup but they could update the information they need a lot more regularly than every ten years.
