That's put another slant on the current situation as Kolarov has been a useful squad option. It's finding the right centre back is the problem. Going off topic slightly, I guess that's the two left-backs have been tied down.

Please please please be true, I'll give the lazy cnut a piggy back all the way there. I dislike him nearly as much as Yaya but at least Yaya can play for 10-15 minutes each game.

I thought it was telling that on @BillyShears podcast, Perarnau said something about how Pep was surprised by how much Kolarov's form fell off a cliff last season after a great start.

August-October Kolarov I'd have playing CB all day, especially with a pair of goo pace fullbacks helping him out.

But the guy we saw after that...? Not someone I'd like to rely on.
