This may sound crazy but I wouldn't be opposed to hanging onto Mangala, he didn't play THAT badly against the rags last week considering they had him playing outside.
I wish, Jonathan Tah would be a great option.Anyone know if we are/really were interested in Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah? Other than being a big strong lad I don't know too much about him. Would he be a good option?

I see. Makes sense. "Tah". ;)I would have had him before Stones but we did not, he is a giant kid with a good future but very right sided and we are well equipped for that
not crazy mate defenses are built on partnerships and understanding something he has never been allowed to build , Against the rags apart from the wrestling match which he got right by giving away a free kick i thought he was very good , but he does need that partnership and quicklyThis may sound crazy but I wouldn't be opposed to hanging onto Mangala, he didn't play THAT badly against the rags last week considering they had him playing outside.
Wby should they be able to do that? Can Martinez cover the left back area? I think whoever we sign needs to be capable of playing both CB and LB, perfect choice would be Alaba, but it's nigh on impossible to prise him from Bayern.

I think we are trying to sell Mangala rather than loan him. Presumably Pep thinks he just is not good enough as we didn't use him last season. Think we need a decent centre half though. If Kompany is injured we look frighteningly short.I think the logic behind the CB being able to cover LB is that we have just sold Kolarov who did just that.
I might be in the minority but I can't see the logic in loaning out Mangala with us paying part of his wages at the same time we spend a fortune on a new defender. Wouldn't we be better keeping Mangala?

Good player but he has been bought by Bayern already. It will be interesting to see if he gets any game time. The competition seems unbeatable: Hummels, Boateng and Martinez.
No. Rewatch the 1st leg vs Monaco and think about it. Komps is our only top defender, he's 31 and prone to injuries.Anyone else think we're set for this position? Otamendi was excellent last season and Kompany is a world-beater. In the event he gets injured, we have both Stones and Tosin who deserve a lot more minutes this season and another CB would only stall their development.
I agree a top class centre back and possibly another left back is the most important positions to fill and I'd be over the blue moon with that. C'mon City! No. Rewatch the 1st leg vs Monaco and think about it. Komps is our only top defender, he's 31 and prone to injuries.
It's unbelievable to think there are City fans happy to go in to the season with Stones and Otamendi potentially playing a load of games together again.No. Rewatch the 1st leg vs Monaco and think about it. Komps is our only top defender, he's 31 and prone to injuries.
But I thought the whole point of buying Danilo was that he'd cover both positions like Adriano used to do back in the day for Barca.I think the logic behind the CB being able to cover LB is that we have just sold Kolarov who did just that.
