Anyway, it would have been a gamble to sign him and I think City are looking at an experienced warrior type, so I can see Rami, Godin, or of course Pepe (if Madrid replace him/lower price tag) being on the shortlist. Some would prefer a young defender like Sakho or Kyriakos P, but I think Pellegrini specifically wants someone experienced.

Yeah, I agree. But, we don't need young defender, because we got Karim Rekik.

Perfect really. Go to a solid Premier League club, see if it works out, if it does and he turns into the player everyone hopes we swoop in with CL football and a legit shot at the title. It'll be like Arsenal but a bit more local.

I don't watch every Spurs game but he has struck me as one of the best English prospects so this is a strange one - at that price he might have been a good option for us. Also a glimpse of the money you can make from good academy graduates.

just about to mention him, we should buy caulker. With sinclair going we do seem to be lacking english players and he has great potential.

it just doesn't make sense does it - I suppose they've guaranteed him game time, but it's still very strange. As you say he's got the makings and he's locally trained and he's very cheap at £9m.
