always good to get your take on things dax, personally i dont think the dortmund 2 are out of reach everyone has their price as they say, subotic would be the better choice for us i think but its that case were would he be able to form the same sort of partnership with vinnie as hes got with hummels. Iv been told to keep an eye on 3 of lyons players by an avid watcher of ligue 1, lovren, pjanic and gonalons. Pjanic i cant rave enough about, gonalons is an unknown to me and lovren gets some rave reviews, the lad reckons he would fit straight in the prem and if anyone would suit us best

cahill - looks like he could be top class in the right team
lovren - young and an imposing presence

Kompany, Lescott, Boateng, Boyata... i think if we wanted to add any go for phil jones, he would help our youth rather than halt its development, kompany and lescott are good a good partnership, boateng & boyata can alternate at right back as weve seen, he would be a great signing
all depends on kolo really :/

Brede Hangeland or Christopher Samba for me.
I think we are vulnerable at set pieces, these two have a physical presence which is hard to argue with. They are both good with their heads, and I think are underrated in general play.
Maybe their ages are against them (29+27) but could see them having a use for 2-3 seasons till either Boateng or some other prospect matures.

Dejan Lovren is very promising defender. Only 21 and bags of potential. He is also left-footed and pretty comfortable on the ball. Tall but he isn't the strongest centre-back. However..thats not always whats needed. Was pretty good in the CL with Lyon too.
He is Croatian..if we signed him. There would be lots of Croatians becoming City fans. Just like with the Bosnians when Edin joined.
I would prefer Lovren over Lescott anyday. I think Lovren has got pretty good pace too. Pretty ok in the air and eveything.

I am sold. Just watched him on Youtube, and I am currently watching him play Nice. He is an impressive player. Fantastic footskills (what I have been dreaming of) and has amazing passing repertoire for a CD. He is great in the air, and uses both feet comfortably.
Personally, I have just moved him tentatively to the top of my young CD list.
@BlueCityfan: He is actually rightfooted, even though extremely comfortably passing with either.

Chiellini has always been one of my fav centre backs, he'd be perfect to pair with Kompany. Hes won Serie A Defender of the Year 2008, 2009 and 2010. He'd probably cost us quite a few mil though.
We could also look to teams at the bottom of the prem league who have good defenders like Phil Jones, Bamba, Hangeland...
