So, am I right in thinking they've got Fabregas,Mangala and Costa in the bag, or is it shite? If this happens they'll have some starting 11 next season. How the fuck do they manage to beat FFP?

50m for Luiz, 40m for Mata and 17 mil for De Bruyne is a start. They can buy anyone this summer, they're in tremendous shape.

So basically they have swapped Mata ( player of the year two tyears running for Fabregras - not that much improvement
Luiz - experienced international for a young unproven centre back
Costa - yes this makes them better but we all knew he was coming and you would expect them to try and improve.

Mata didn't play for them.

If anyone, they'll be swapping a past it Lampard for Fabregas

Someone also said Arsenal refused to pay the same fee as Chelsea, they didnt have buyback only first refusal should barca receive an acceptable bid, Arsenal didnt want to pay it

Why am I not surprised? If I was a betting man, I would put money on wenger whinging about this at some point next season. What am I saying, I am a betting man

If those three do end up there, we've got better than Costa and Fabregas. Mangala might become an excellent centre half but he isn't at the moment.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

chelsea are going to be very hard to compete against over the next few years, they have so many players out on loan (c.25), most of them will never get near the first team and will just be continuously loaned until they want to raise some cash at which point they'll just flog them to balance the transfer books.....thereby spending huge amounts and still breaking even.

our business model seems to be more about building an empire, including overseas clubs, which is all well and good for brand promotion, but any profits made by our overseas clubs, does not help us with FFP.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Nando Torres on eventual new signing Fabergas: "Big players are always good signings. We know Cesc, he knows the division and was always among the top players when he was at Arsenal," Torres said during an interview for Movistar. "He likes to play good football and will offer ball control, cutting edge, goals... If he's made to feel important, like a leader -- like when he was at Arsenal -- he can drive the team on and he's a type of player Chelsea don't have right now."

We are going to break earlier than Chelsea did under Roman though with next year predicted to be our break even year and the year after we will show profit.

The City Group model in my opinion will take longer to implement but my money is on it being a bigger success than what Chelsea have going on as it wouldn't surprise me to see us get level with Real Madrid and Barcelona in ten years time and who knows maybe even overtake them.

We break even 2013-14 season, and next season 2014-15 we will show profit.

all of our predictions about breaking even are only based on an assumed level of transfer spend though, if we are forced/want to blow £80m on a big signing, then we wont break even. talk of breaking even before chelsea did when abramovich took over is not relevant, FFP wasnt an issue then so they could spend what they liked. Break even or not, chelsea are in a very nice position of having numerous assets of value that they can sell to no detriment at all.

I think it's pretty evident that the club are confident about breaking even next season otherwise they wouldn't have accepted the 60m euros fine from UEFA with the chance of it reducing it to 20m euros if we break even next season.

I think you will find City will eventually follow a similar model to that of Chelsea's buying promsing players cheap and selling them for profit after a few loans because there has been serious talk of buying a Portuguese club to house promising South Americans, plus I think we are going to see the start of it with the potential signing of Bruno Zuculini who will be bought and loaned out.

You say we won't break even if we have to spend 80m on a big singing but the club is doing what it can so we don't have to, City want to build an academy where we eventually don't have to be spending ridiculous sums every summer, plus Dortmund and Atletico Madrid have proved that you don't need to spend huge sums on one player to win trophies.

I think unless it's the next Neymar I doubt very much City will ever spend 50m + on a player.

FFP wont affect City next season and I doubt it will ever again, this summer is a one off in my opinion.
