This can only happen if Yaya is going the other way,and from what his agent said in the sun,it could yet be a possibility! If that happens then I'd go for, Fernandinho,Fernando,Cesc,Silva,Nasri and aguero as our front six!Decent for a shot at the CL!
Big mistake to consider exchanging Yaya for Cesc IMO. Cesc is a decent player but Yaya is the most influential big game player we have. We would have struggled to have won any of our 4 trophies without Yaya.

The chances of Yaya repeating his performances this season in the future is not all that great. He's getting older and thus more lazy. I'd more than happily replace him with Fabregas, who'll be a world class player for years and years to come.
The only difficulty I can see with Yaya is motivation. He is incredibly ambitious and wants to win all the top trophies, especially the CL, and to be acknowledged as one of the world's best players. Perhaps with our FFP setbacks he sees this less likely? I cannot think of any top team in europe that would not be strengthened by Yaya.
Cesc has plateaued at Barca and they are happy to sell. He seems to have a weak mentality. He is younger but that is the only advantage over Yaya.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Cesc had in all competitions 15 goals and 17 assists in 65 games started (52, as a sub 13) this season, almost half of his shots hit the target.

Yaya had 57 games (53+4), scored 26 goals and assisted 12. A third of his shots are on target.

I don't think any midfielder in the world could have done for us what Yaya did this season, but I am not overly confident he'll reprise that kind of form next season, and the following ones.

Fabregas just turned 27 and have at least four years of top quality in him.

Having a midfield trio like:

----- Fernando ---- Fernandinho -----
----------- Fabregas ----------------

... would not make us a weaker side imo.

I don't want the Yaya-story to be true, but if it is I am very disappointed in him and cannot have the same kind of respect for him I had before today.

Don't forget that whilst Yaya was at Barca, there is no way anyone would have described him as someone who can taken a game by the scruff of it's neck and win it for you. Fabregas may seem a bit on the periphery there but also don't forget he was arguably the best midfielder in the league when he was at Arsenal, and that was when he was still very young.

If there is any chance of swapping Yaya out for Cesc without impacting our transfer budget, on age and home grown status alone we would be mad not to consider it. He'll likely come on less wages too. Ferran spoke already of the mistake in not selling Ronaldinho when his value was at his peak - If PSG slap 50 million on the table are we honestly going to tell them where to go? All hypotheticals but that would be very difficult.

English press : " Yaya Toure and Cesc to Barca Manchester"

Apparently Touré , who has had a great season , not feeling valued in the City. Barca listen to offers for Cesc and attracts Premier injury.

The British press today highlights two possible trades involving himself to Spanish league : the possible return of Yaya Toure at Barcelona and Cesc Fabregas 's return to the Premier League.

Apparently Touré is unhappy about his treatment in Manchester. Feeling undervalued because it marked twenty goals ( as a midfielder ) and has been the most decisive player City in their conquest of the Premier this year.

Moreover, it has not been the best season of Cesc at Barça , and heard the whistling of Camp Nou in the last games of the season . Although the club has not put him directly on the transfer list , if you are willing to listen to offers that reach 50 million euros.

According to the Mirror , " Manchester United have money and are willing to spend big to renew its workforce. Moreover, knows that Barcelona will hear bids for Cesc ."

Furthermore, the representative of Touré , Dimitry Selcuk , told Sun " that the attitude of the club ( refieriendo the City) with Yaya is not up , so there would be no surprise to come out of the club in the summer ."

The Mail , however , refers to one of the reasons why the player from the Ivory Coast would return to Barcelona : " They forgot to congratulate him on his 31st birthday , although apparently it was Toure who forgot to open your Twitter because actually congratulating the team appears " .

Re: Cesc Fabregas

i love Yaya, but his agent is a woman. if that what Yaya wants, and Cesc is available, just offer to swap one-on-one with Barcelona. i'm very grateful for what Yaya did. he's an amazing player, but if his heart is somewhere else, just let him go.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

No way we can let Yaya go guys - we wouldn't have won the league this year without him and his goals ..... Fabregas wouldn't have that big of an impact IMO.

Yaya has three years left on his contract, we're not selling him, he's irreplaceable and this guy Seluk who claims he's his agent is a f*cking dick, not the first time he's come out talking shite. My guess is he probably thinks he can get big wedge of dosh as part of any transfer involving Yaya. Do you really think City would even consider letting him go??

However I would love Fabregas to come to us but the price being mooted is way too much for us with UEFA's FFP hands round our throat!

Everything dimitry said is true . He speaks for me . I will give an interview after world cup to explain.

If Yaya insists on leaving then I'd go in all the way for Pogba or Vidal instead of Cesc.
